Hi! You made me buy S1 Pro lately. And I'm discovering more and more gems in this software. You have a lot of to cover in your videos! 1 of best things I see is dragging midi to audio track - and it renders the tracki - but keeping midi source with audio track - amazing! And all that library you can build putting your midi sequences - and it renders audio previews and keeps all plugins and settings - so you can drag'n'drop it anytime into your new project!

All I got to say is WOW. Very informative. Best I've come across in my search to learn Studio one.

Just installed Studio 1. I've recorded an album in the past (several years ago) using "Logic" so I am familiar with the process but like I said, it's been a while and I used a different DAW so I thought I re-acquaint myself with some of the basics. I'm digging the tutor. He's proceeding through the tutorial at a good pace, not too slow, not to quick. And even though his has a thick west Texas accent I can understand everything he says, no problem. blah ha ha lol. Yes, I know, he's from down under. Liked and subscribed! A complete novice to this and I have been looking on a lot of videos for understandable Studio One instruction. All of them seem to assume the beginner knows so much and the cursor moves everywhere at lightning speed. So thanks for how you do this all around. Basically what I need is to create a track for my vocals as one track and then add a karaoke track, add effects as needed, mix and export. Would be soooo great if I could find that information!! :-)

I've been a Sonar user for a long time and I have used Cakewalk by Bandlab. It's still great but sometimes it seems to be a bit outdated. So I looked into other DAWs. I got Studio One two weeks ago and I have to say that it's awesome. I'm still using Cakewalk but Studio One will probably become my first choice.

After 11 videos that say they are for beginners this is the only one that really gave me what I needed to know right away. My needs were very simple just 2 tracks - 1. piano 2. my vocal. Mission accomplished. Now I have to find a clear simple video on mixing and exporting to mp3. Any suggestions.

I spent months chasing latency by restting buffer size and such like before I found out about the 'Zero latency butten' on the main output channel to the right of the mixer window it's a little squiggl below the fadder click it and bang, no more latency with buffer set to 512.

That was very cool, Mike. Thanks. I should be able to apply those ideas to Cakewalk. Speaking of which, I've been wanting you to do a basic editing vid for Cakewalk. I've ended up figuring a lot of it out, but I still end up dragging stuff instead of deleting and that kind of thing, far too often. I also have trouble with the zooming function, deleting extra bars at the beginning or end, and is there a goto function, without having to either play the song to the location or drag the playhead all the way to where I want to go? Am I being clear about my issues? Anyway, a vid dedicated strictly to basic editing functions for Cakewalk would probably help a lot of people out who are new to using a DAW. I have tried recording with DAWs monitoring on, and even with low latency I do notice going out of the rythm, and that ended in me cutting the audio file to quantize and this sounds weird, but I have fixed this in three ways already and im going to share all three methods, from the cheapest to one that will can hurt wallet. Method one is to use a DI-box (Direct Injection Box) connected to a guitar amp with effects and audio interface, method 2 is to hook up a mixer in front of audio interface and send signal to your amp and effects for monitoring or use with headphones if you dont have amp. This second method brings some extra noise to the mix as the mixer have its own preamps, method 3 is to record through BOSS GT-100 or another amp modelling unit with built in audio interface, and most of these new amp modellers have audio interfaces and they have the option to record effect signal with the DI signal on seperate channels at the same time with no latency, and this is the best option but also most expensive one. DI box with cheap practice amp and some pedals is the cheapest option to get zero latency monitoring.
