i know this is an old video but, its not boring math to me at all, in fact i find it extremely fascinating! I'm 20 and im super interested in playing around with this stuff, but its always so difficult and time consuming to learn everything about a program so i love little tips and tricks videos like this, from people that have been doing this all their life because its the best way to learn imo. Hell, Even if its just to learn what programs/vst's an artist uses that helps tremendously.

barnabyray I know this is an old comment, but you should grab fl studio demo and follow seamlessr on KZfaq. if you're willing to put in the time and work, he will teach you everything you could want to know about making modern music and sound design.

This could never be "boring math" to a true aspiring music producer. I'm working in FL Studio, and dont understand this program much, but the amount that your tutorials have helped my sound is honestly absolutely incredible. Thanks for these videos man, and i hope more come out! :D
@djdefunct9 жыл бұрын
First off, let me start by saying. Woah! and thank you! As a DJ of 15 years, and a novice producer, This is the most excellent thing you could possibly have ever made, (the series that is) I must say that as someone who did not originally like genres such as Dubstep or Electro House, trap, etc.. You changed that for me, your music speaks to me, It is by far the most unique blend of everything I love about electronic music across all genres, I have never been such a fan of someones work in my _LIFE_. These videos unlocked a whole new side of me that directly impacted my creativity and passion for music, I mean it's always been there as a DJ, but you have inspired me to take my productions and remixes to the next level, and they really have. Since watching them, I have finally after all this time been able to make my own signature sound and a distinguishable sound that says, I made this shit. I have tried to be the biggest innovator when it comes to my skills as a performance DJ who takes mixing ot to the next level and you gave me so much that helped me start doing the same with my original pieces. I can never say thank you enough, for finally being the one person who inspired me to overcome the plateau i was stuck at and moving forward. I would love to pick your brain sometime, SO maybe I would like to find out how to go about booking, just to get a sense of price to bring you here, mostly so i can meet you. Anyways, thanks for helping me be inspired and to get where i would like to be one day, Cheers!

@ItzAidan7297 жыл бұрын
Sytrus is goof mainly for FM and RM but can also do additive and subtractive synthesis as well. However. Harmor and Serum are two completely different VST's in the fact that Serum is a WaveTable synthesis based VST where Harmor is strictly Additive. honestly. its not the tools. its how you use what you have that counts. ive heard some sick drops with people just using 3x osc and post processing shit.

it is extremely underrated.. I honestly wish there were a solid amount of presets for it like how there is for serum and massive..

Firstly, thank you so much for sharing some "tricks of the trade" with us. You're truly a musical genius, and a huge inspiration to myself. These videos are fantastic. I have some questions that you may be interested in answering: 1) What is your philosophy towards building chords? What sorts of voicings do you prefer for the dubstep genre or is it all 5ths with the melody on top? Do you plan out your chord progressions before starting or is it a more organic process? 2) Arrangement: is there a "go to" arrangement model for you or is it molded as the track is forming? I've noticed there are some standard arrangements (quiet opener, main riff, breakdown, build up, drop, main riff 2, optional break, drop 2, ending) for EDM but I was wondering what your take on that is. 3) What are some VST's would you suggest for someone just starting out and wanting their mixes to sound better overall? I'm speaking more about effects and tools rather that synthesizers (it's obvious that Massive is an important go-to for sound designers, but if you have any other interesting synth choices that would be fun to learn about). 4) What kind of gear do you use (this question should be quick as it looks like you don't have a ton of physical gear.) 5) Could you share some of your insight on mixing? As a new producer I"m having some problems getting my mixes to sound good and I was hoping you could give me some pointers. Anyway, thanks so much for taking the time to make these tutorial videos. They're extremely helpful and inspiring.
