I used to have all of my fabrics in lower cupboards, in small bins. I finally reorganized and put them in clear containers and in rainbow order - it has made all the difference. Only Christmas fabrics are in their own clear storage container. I do keep vintage fabrics in their own clear storage and wools separate also. I think by being able to see my fabric choices, I have the ability to make better choices. You like you said everyone has their own preferences and way they see/ remember what is available to them! I really enjoyed this trip around your crafting / sewing studio. You so clearly love all your carefully collected treasures. Such a happy, colourful and eclectic mix 💙 so totally different from me but I can really appreciate it all, it is really lovely. 💙 And I get it about the IKEA boxes. I use the same white ones, for doilies, laces, tablecloths, fabric and other treasures. Nearly all of my ‘quilting’ fabric are in drawers for an easy overview. Thank you for showing us 💙

Lots of beautiful fabric. Clear containers might help.

I think if you keep all of your fabric together you’re more inclined to use it. You know which fabrics are special or not and you can decide at the time of a pull if you want to use it. Drawers are brilliant for fabric in a kind of filing system if you have smaller bits.
