That Is a great studio and Record collection as well. If anyone Is wondering what the Single Is on the Wall at 7:06. It Is Paul Anka - Adam And Eve ABC Paramount Records cat# 10,082, This was the B-Side of His Number One In the UK and America In 1960 of Puppy Love. Missing It's Picture Sleeve, I'm guessing It was the First single ordered In the Shop that Is why You kept It.
@MAARTN
@MAARTN 4 жыл бұрын
It is that record indeed my friend! The reason it's on the wall is because that is the only record I have with a sticker from the store. Only thing left from the stuff they had in the store were some old 45's without sleeves. The rest my grandparents and my mother got rid of, unfortunatly.. Peace!

After watching a video of Dilla's friends go through his record collection in storage and pulling up a bunch of Weather Report, I got intrigued and also started buying everything of theirs I could find. Doing the same with Osibisa as well! Thanks for that Larry Page recommendation. Crazy record! And cus none of my friends care/know who he is, I figure I'd share this story here: I got to meet Masta Ace and get a record signed. Really cool moment to tell him how awesome his work is.

SP-404 is dope. Nothing wrong with that just ask Madlib, Dibia$e, Ras G (rip) etc. I use a maschine and an M32 keyboard because they work for me. Wow just found your video randomly. Nice collection and I can feel your passion for jazz records. I too have a lot of the Klemmer stuff, CTI, Mainstream, ECM, Enja, Weather Report, Hancock, etc. Been at it since about 1987 when I bought Ryuichi Sakamoto's 1000 Knives on import. The Jasper Van't Hof stuff is real nice... got a few library records from Brull, well it goes on and on... you have way more records than me though... think I'm at about 600-700.. I bought an Akai MPC Live with the purpose of incorporating it with my piano (Yamaha C3x grand) and rhodes/moog/Arp/Oberheim gear... really love your vibe on this and know what you mean about not meaning to be a braggy thing because I feel I have just bragged about having a load of gear in this comment... ;)

I make house but I'm glad these days are done. I never wanna waste my time programming an Akai Sampler or mess with a Yamaha, Mackie mixer again! I got my nice iMac and Ableton now. Instead of doing what took me 3hrs with this hardware in the 90s I can do in three clicks in Ableton. Warmth shsss there just too many plugins out there that make up for that. I appreciate the art and the craft behind it from back in the day but I'm just able to pump out too many more quality productions these days due to technology.

I get what you are saying, I sometimes don't make music because I don't feel like spending 20 to 30minutes chopping samples up first. So I might buy some newer gear in the future for when I want to make something in a short amount of time. But I don't think I will ever get rid of my older gear. I just love it way too much and collecting it is half the fun already for me. The way it sounds and such is unique but I understand what you mean. Peace!
