They had video about releasing arm muscles if you grasp objects alot like you do with felting needles. Lay right arm on table. Slowly lift hand to 90 degrees. It stretches muscles on bottom of arm and relaxes mus les on top of arm which are used to grasp objects. Do a few times and muscle aches disappear

Definitely something we all need to do! My muscle issue is from my intercostal rib muscles so slightly different but anything might help, I do like their channel so I will have a look for that one, thanks so much xx

The audio sounds great! I see most youtubers that I follow that do voice over work or interviews using those mics and they seem to do great. I would LOVE to see a full dyeing video from you! I've been experimenting with natural and acid dyes but it's mostly been for yarn or cloth. I would love a video showing how to dye fiber instead - it's just always seemed rather intimidating to me for some reason. The leaf fabric on your stand looks really good - it helps break up all of the flat green color with a pattern!
@feltsbyphilippa
@feltsbyphilippa 23 күн бұрын
Thank you, the leaf fabric definitely adds texture, I really like it too. I was going to do a video on dyeing but then realised how little I know 😂. I am doing a few more experiments this month and then maybe I will feel confident enough for a tutorial, I think you just have to go for it, I have some cheaper wool from a charity shop so will try a few techniques out on that first xx

Dear Philippa another wonderful VLOG thank you - I very much look forward to them. Sadly this month, I've viewed alone - as my darling mum passed away after her illness on 23rd May. I am heartbroken and it did take me a while to watch this because of the memories I had of doing so with mum, but I pulled on my big girl's pants and have sat down and embraced the experience as a way to remember how she and I loved to watch your KZfaq channel together in those final months. I remember particularly the day we "binge watched" the lot! Your theme tune was a complete earworm in my mind that day lol! THank you for all the joy you brought mum, and I will keep on watching x See you at Yarndale I hope, we have booked accommodation yippee....! Love Denise A (Hampshire).

Oh Denise, I am so sorry to hear that, it must be such a difficult time for you. I can't imagine the loss and how you feel when watching my channel after those close memories. I am touched that your Mum really enjoyed the channel and that you got to watch it together. I have your card up on the my board with your lovely, kind words, thank you. I am very happy that we will get to meet at Yarndale, sending you lots of hugs and prayers, take good care xx

I love your vlogs, Philippa. I enjoy getting to see you try new crafts/hobbies; wet felting, crocheting, needle punch and wool dying. Your felt picture turned out great. Our local framing shop has something that is called Archival Glass (I think), it has very little to no reflection.

Lovely to see you thriving! I think most crafters with channels hear you on the "I'm making an effort for the camera but as soon as I can, hair goes up and I'm casual again" Only day I'm making an effort, usually, is Sunday because that's when I stream. Rest of the week I am just casual, only reason to leave the house is to buy groceries so who'd I make myself up for? :D Looking forward to the video on your course! I saw the picture on instagram and the ladies' did great! I think if I took a course I'd like to do the armature there (because I am sooo hit or miss with my armatures) and having a professional to help me and show me some tips and tricks right there in the room... I'd really want to use that. Video tutorials are great, but I think sometimes we think we're doing it exaclty like we're supposed to but just a tiny adjustment in how we hold or move something would just do the trick... and a good teacher would probably see that within 30 seconds and be able to help. I love those drawstring bags and the air fresheners! Such amazing ideas. As you said, for felting the bags might not be the right thing (even though I work with wooden holders so I can savely transport my needles) but they are cute for sure! Maybe I'll ask my mother to make me one. (If I can find a tutorial in German) It's funny you made the different stages of the sheep for your course. I did the same with the fairies we made the first day at mine. I still have the stages all on a string to hang up. And they are on the cover of the eBook I made for the fairies (which is still not available, I need to proofread it again and then translate it so I can offer it in English as well. It's just not something I have energy for right now, but I really should do it...) I had my second month of not selling anything in one of the shops I'm in. We'll go check in the others start of next week. Well, I hope it will pick up again sooner rather than later. Apparently one lady has been coming back again and again looking at the pug I made with the help of your tutorial. She's been having an eye on it since January, though :D Maybe she'll buy it one day. Well... one can never have too much wool. But I am approaching it^^ Honestly I'm not planning on buying any more soon. Except if I run out of a colour I need I'm gonna work with what I have, because I have a really wide range now. And it's time to make some money and stop spending. I don't have anything like "World of Wool" near me to get tempted, luckily. Looking on the internet does not have the same effect as having it right in front of you... My partners brother and sister in law were dog breeders for decades but they quit due to their age... but their dogs had other plans and they had 6 puppies this year. I am the person who handles their website and social media and that has been taken up a lot of my time in the last few months. We have a new video up daily (if the social media sites work, that is... First Meta stopped letting me upload without reason and now TikTok. Actually nothing works on TikTok. I can't even follow anyone. As soon as I'm going to a different page the follow has been revoked. It is unusable because this way I can't feed the algorithm what I would like to see, of course noone is reacting to me asking for help) Now all but one puppy has found a new home so it will all calm down a bit and I have more time to take care of housekeeping for my own business again. I'm currently working on a project that's already around 15 hours... After doing all the small things for the shops that only took 3-5 that is a change of pace for me. I should be able to finish it in the next few days, though. And then I'm back to designing a few small things... If I ever get my youtube running it will all pay of. :D But right now that's a big "if". Anyway, I hope you have a great month ahead of you! Take care.

Hi Chloe, Thanks so much, glad to hear you will have a bit more time soon, felting takes ages and then running the business on top! Always so much to do. Doing the sheep and cow in stages really helped me at my workshop and then I had some quick felts to complete after the weekends which didn't take long. May was quite a slow month on Etsy but it seems to have picked up a bit now which is good, sometimes the Etsy gods like me and sometimes they don't 😅 Anyway, take care and speak soon xx

Hi Philippa, once again a great video. Seeing the lovely countryside I enjoyed while being there in Holmfirth made me feel quite bereft 😄. Love the 2D pictures, especially the second one. Is it better to wet felt your base or is it still the same result to dry felt? I really loved your workshop and ‘Herdie’, as I’ve called him ,is finished and admired by my family👍🏻😊. Looking forward to your workshop video😄. Lots of love xxx
@feltsbyphilippa
@feltsbyphilippa 28 күн бұрын
Hi Val, how fantastic to have actually met! Glad Herdie is all finished and you are pleased with him, the workshop video will be up Friday hopefully. I would say wet felting a larger picture is quicker than needle felting it and you can also add needle felted details on afterwards. If the picture was small then I would needle felt it as there is less mess/water. I am finishing all my partly made Herdwicks and Highlands this week so I will have a small flock and herd soon! Take care xx
