one of the good things about street woman fighter is many people now realize that those dancers aren't just backup dancers to idols. they're talented and successful dancers who work hard and hold back their strength in dancing to avoid taking the spotlight away from idols.

You're right. Especially the netizens of Korea. Let's not talk about mnet evil editing and poor evaluation but SWF become an eye opener in korea that dancing is also a professional career/job not just a back up dancer because most of them took a course related to arts and performance yet people look them down.

@@sailorinthenight it's worse because many of them mentioned that they used to work 2-3 jobs to support their passion, which they pursue at night, & even if they do get paid as backup dancers it's by the performing hour, despite working just as hard if not more than the performer they're supporting. If there's one thing I'm really really glad this show has brought about, is that people finally realize the humans behind a successful performance, & the effort into making a successful one.

MNET did a great job giving these dancers the support they deserve. They aren't recognized as "Idol's Back Up Dancers", they now have their own fancams, own fandoms, own endorsements. Credits are also giver to now unlike before. According to LeeJung, companies start to put the choreo credit on album as well.

I think one of the reasons why swf hit big is because all participated crews are distinct from each other. They have their own color, charisma, vibe, strength and talent that make us harder to ignore them. I'm glad dancers now are getting the well deserved recognition.

I was peacefully watching the first performance for the first time, and suddenly I heard dutch lyrics (I'm dutch) and I was kind of shocked, because I just didn't expect it. And yes I know it's not all dutch, and that just added to the shock-factor.
