idk why but the reason people usually dont like one piece characters is probably what i like most about them the way oda wanted to show that they all have flaws no matter how strong or cool they seem and that not everyone is perfect i just love how oda always has deeper meanings with the characters and the names as well

@georgehathaways4599 Many people don't realize, the most fearsome part of Oda is that be keeps improving. As long run series, there are inevitable lows when author needs time to polish important stories for other important characters. *spoiler* Kuma backstory delivered, the saddest one in the series. Also revealed, another legendary badass character Nusjuro overwhelming Zoro with pure badass aura. But these aren't even major character. Shanks, Dragon, Teach are protagonist level major characters that Oda polished for more than 20 years literally. The final saga will most definitely put One piece up there with Lotr Harry Potter or possibly threat Dune.

I feel bad for Jackson trying to explain all this stuff to people who don’t necessarily understand the importance of the compasses, or visiting each island on the route. A lot of the questions they have are better explained once you start watching the show and seeing how certain things interact with each other

I was a Naruto super fan for like 12 years, started the anime when I was 8. 3 years ago, I reluctantly started to watch One Piece and honestly, best decision I’ve ever made. Yes, the characters can sometimes be a bit crazy, but the more you watch, the more you LOVE it. You guys should really try it !!!

Tbf I started watching on 4kids when I was like 10 so I'm fully indoctrinated at this point. One piece is my biggest form of "sewerslide" prevention

I hate this narrative that they are against each other they are not they are two different anime’s and the mangaka are friends that helped each other why can both not be enjoyed together.

Nope. Mystery in AOT is kind of forgettable while even if u waited years after watching 1000 eps of One Piece, you will still remember the clues, story line and the mystery. For me One Piece is first while AOT comes 2nd. There is no stretch when everyone agrees that One Piece is the best selling manga and the best story out there. Hopefully AOT fans starts to accept criticism on it's ending and flaws.

Normal anime haters aren't going to want to watch one piece even after then first season. It's just so slow. The live action gets you hooked on the characters, and makes you want to watch more, after which you realize one piece is one of the greatest stories ever written

I’ve watched a good portion, and it’s alright, but not really for me. The pacing is painful. I don’t have the time to sit down and watch an hour of them walking through a desert and literally nothing else happening.

One Piece has a very bad pace. Naruto has a better prime and more iconic characters. HxH, SnK, FMA have better story. If Togashi ends HXH, there will be no debate on the greatest manga ever.

it's not that the author is just stretching the story he's actually limiting his imagination cuz it's a manga and has to be released weekly. we've some interviews where the editors and other staff says oda discards a lot of ideas and characters in the story to publish it weekly. he just writes story in his own way and it ended up being like 1.1k chapters long so far. but it's definitely nearing the end now. anyone who's caught up to One Piece manga will say the same after recent chapters

The thing about One Piece is that, even though it's 1000+ chapters, it's actually a remarkably *concise* story -- Oda weaves plot threads together very efficiently so that he's able to set things up without you realizing it's ever going to come back. There reason it's so long is because there really is just THAT much story to tell in One Piece -- it's a modern epic. As long as we're talking about the manga, though -- the anime actually is padded to hell. It's why you should read the manga instead. The One Piece anime was originally made in the era of Shounen Jump longrunners where production made an episode every single week for years and years, as opposed to the modern trend which is for a studio to get contracted whenever there was enough manga to adapt a season of anime.

The One Piece story is unlike anything you guys have experienced from anime so far. There is so much intention in the story and the characters are so lovable and real, you grow with them. It has so much heart and soul and the way everything interconnects with mind-blowing foreshadowing and lore. You have no idea how epic this is untill you give it a chance and stop trying to guess why people love it so much. It’s the best selling comic book in history by a single author for a reason

Most naruto fans didnt watch OP, most one piece fans watched both. That is why majority of the naruto fandom blindly hates on OP, while I would say half of the one piece fandom hates naruto(trust me there are still some out there) the other half still likes it. I'm the latter, I still like naruto but I wouldn't in a million years say that its better than One Piece.

"The Breathtaking World of One Piece" truly is the best way to introduce people to One Piece. For everyone that clowns on the "Over 1000 Episodes", they can see just how much room that gives to really explore the world and build up something incredible. Oda-sensei is a genius for being able to put all this down on the page every week and have it all make sense and feel connected. Give the series a shot! Start with the manga, or "ONE PACE"!

@laupao2595 I haven't watches One PACE personally, but a lot of people swear by it to skip the Padding done in Whole Cake and Reverie for example. It's up to the viewers how they wanna consume it. Personally, I read the manga and then watch most of the anime.

It’s a valid complaint tbf; probably doesn’t bother people as much as some but it can definitely make getting into a show harder. Depends how important visuals are to you. I definitely struggled to enjoy certain characters in one piece just because their designs were so bad. Although as much as OP misses with them they do also produce some cool and badass designs for the rest to make up for it!

What is the point of hating a show you havent even seen its just stupid and you miss out on so much because of presumptions, the character designs in OP are one of the best imo and the story, emotions, worldbuilding, fights, characters are all just peak. You should really give it a shot before dissing it its just stupid, it became my favorite show of all time even before the timeskip and after that just loved it more and more :DD (I realised the hate was for jokes dont get mad at me)

Everything you guys enjoyed about Attack on Titan - the lore, the world building, characters and climaxes - you will find that to a far better execution in One Piece. The animation maybe old and outdated with poor pacing, but the story remains superior in almost every aspect. It’s truly peak

12:00 McKay if u saw and understood they can’t just skip to the end. And the author originally wanted it to end roughly 500 episodes in but introduced a new aspect to the series and that is what created the insanely expansive world and the reason it’s over 1000 episodes. IT WAS AN AMAZING DECISION

Actually Oda originally wanted the story to be way way shorter, more like a few hundred chapters only, because back then he thought his manga would be cancelled at any time. But it got more and more popular so he decided to continue worldbuilding and telling new stories. So what was supposed to be only a 5 year story turned out to be a 30 year one...

One piece is one of those anime that don't look good on the first go. Because the animation is really old. But once you start watching it, it starts growing on you. You get attached to the characters, their world, the story. It is a bit slow pacing but honestly I don't hate it much. It gives you time to actually understand and love the characters. It really hits you in the feels. You are gonna be on this roller coaster ride for all the emotions. The world is very unique. The imagination is wild. The characters' looks are wild. But that's the beauty of it. It kinda makes you think "Well, why not?!" Instead of "Why?" after some time. 😂 But it's definitely worth a shot!

Yessss i struggled when i first started and kept complaining abojt the design, the dated language, etc - but once I simply accepted that the episodes I was watching were made 20+ YEARS AGO (HELLO??? Like how many stories have that kind of longevity anyway??), and is made for a specific audience, once I realized that, the JOY of the show became so much clearer. I was able to just enjoy the story and how much fun Oda clearly had writing this story. And it was interesting to kind of see 20 years of storytelling, because you do feel certain influences in the anime depending on the years they came out. And how language has changed over time too!! One Piece is also one of the few tangible examples of the history of animation in Japan. You see how much Oda loves animation, and how the show allowed him only more room to expand his imagination. It changes so much because WHY NOT! And then when you get to later in the show and some of those older animators COME BACK, dude, it’s just such a fulfilling show. ….I could go on forever honestly lol

As a former diehard fan of Naruto, i can assure, you guys gonna love One Piece so much. I was always hesitating to start one piece because of it's character design and long episodes but after i decided to watch it, i finished it in 3 months 😅 (you just need to give 3/4 hours a day to this anime n skip fillers) Now This anime is in my no. 1 favorite in my anime list. What makes you engaging is its peak comedy, wonderful design of world and connectedness of each arc in every other arc, their backstories, power buildup, main characters specially i like Luffy as a main character in whole anime i have watched. This anime is still running is its proof that it is worth to watch and if you don't start soon you may gonna regret it later. Cause after revealing what one piece is, then it will be all over in the internet n you all going to be spoiled 😅

I really love brigg's idea of doing multiple blocks of like 10 episodes of One piece, 10 episodes of bleach , 10 episodes of naruto, and compare them everytime. So at the end you know which one is the greatest in your opinions. (Srry for my bad english, i'm french)

i saw on Patreon they did 12hrs of Naruto which was like 19 episodes, so if we get 19 episodes of Bleach and One Piece as well... Naruto has strongest start imo, instantly the first arc is amazing and beginning of second which is even better, One Piece tho if they watch One Pace then arguably its way better, cuz in 12 hours they can literally see whole East Blue saga. Bleach for me insane 1st episode, then nothing until Soul Society and thats where it actually starts but its around 17eps to get there... One Pace might feel like cheating but thats a winner for me

One piece’s world is so vast because the story isn’t afraid to leave luffy behind for a bit and show other places without him being there and other things happening. There’s so many things happening at once in one piece at any given time it’s insane.

I started watching One Piece in Summer 2022 because friends of mine said for years i need to watch it. I never wanted cuz there were so many episodes. I am now close to Episode 850 and must say i love this anime. Its not my favorite but still in my top 3 or 5. I can understand people who say i dont watch it because its to long or they dont like it because the pacing is to slow but i cant understand people who say the story is shit, because this is so well done. Oda is a fkn genius.

Back in 2000, I used to think One Piece didn’t deserve to be considered one of the big three. I was a huge fan of Naruto and Bleach. That was until I decided to actually watch One Piece. From then on, nothing can compare to it, no anime or regular show in history is even near One Piece .

I can't understand how one can hate one piece. I mean i understand why people don't wants to watch it as it's too big and many doesn't like the Animation. But that doesn't mean it deserve so much hate it gets. This story has one of the best story writing and character writing.People comoare it with naruto like bruh the two good thing that came out of naruto is pain and madara and nothing else. On the other hand for op every new arc is keeps breaking previous record. Every new arc is better then the last one.

I watched One Piece last year after denying the need to watch 1k+ episodes during 3 years. It took me 3 months to finish it (oh god I hated going to sleep, going outside, or doing any thing that distracted me from watching it - that was absolutely crazy). I am a weekly watcher since July 2023 and I almost don’t have days when I don’t think about OP, because it has such a great amount of characters and events that you are able to find similarities basically in every thing in your daily life. I’m dying to find answers to all the mysteries🥲 Also I have at least 100 favourite moments and I love watching reactions on YT to these episodes so much 😄 If you guys will really watch it all, I am ready to join you in this beautiful journey and watch every single episode one more time!

oda's creative mind always surprises me. the reason why OP still remains relevant after all these years is first the world building, every place that are introduced in one piece is just so majestic, second is the plot (you should actuallt watch the animé to understand it) there are deeper issues that are tackled within the animé but its hidden within that goofy atmosphere of OP, third is because it has been going on for many years, we actually have dealt with the depths of every character that are introduced in the show. and fyi, the one piece was actually confirmed by oda is not the adventure or the friendship, sure we enjoyed that but there's more to one piece that this shows.

The events in One piece is nessessary for moving the story along, the many islands they travel to is important to the story. the entire story is about finding the one piece, it''s difficult and the crewmembers have their own backstories and lives to deal with. it's a massive world because it's nessessary for the story.

I know some of the Fandom is intense, but honestly it is one one of the best pieces of media created and worth the watch for the epic story. The reason why the world is so big is because the world exists outside of the the main characters (if that makes sense) at the present too (not just showing islands in flashbacks) so at the same time that the current arcs other events are happening at the same time and we get to witness/explore these events too so we're expanding the world not just by following the protagonists but even side characters too (and not to mention cover stories in the manga)

My friend had the HARDEST time getting me into one piece because of how it looked and I didn't care about pirates at all. No exaggeration now it's my favorite story of all time across any medium and I read/watch/play stories with all my free time. It's a slow burn, but the length eventually becomes the best part because you never want it to end. The current arc all these years later has had some of the best story yet and things that have been set up for later are hella hype. Also its weird, but you get used to the character designs and it kinda becomes really endearing and makes for a lot of contrast when people get serious and look cool like one punch man does.

You remember how great of an experience it was to watch AOT with everyone? Imagine that with a show that has been going on for over 20 years. And if you don't watch it, you will 100 percent be unable to avoid spoilers of the one piece. Also, I was a One Piece hater at one point but now I can't shut up about it. And you all keep asking all these questions and are getting the experienced ruined by having Jackson explain it to you when it's clear you're curious about it and you can just watch it lol.

@@Asg1302it's big coz of the world it created. And you have watched only 100 eps, give it sometime or switch to manga if pacing is the problem for you. Everything needs time to build. And btw no, u will not have to wait 700 eps, coz even on 150 onwards it gets better and then later on much better.

There are over 3 million islands you can visit every island in a day and you wouldn't be able to visit all cause you also have to travel to them. It's fucking crazy to think that oda could have ended one piece in early 2000's if the manga wouldn't have picked up but now fans just want more I cannot wait for a next Sunday to read another chapter and now that we are truly in the end it's amazing. One Piece tells a lot of it's characterization visually in the character itself. Characters can look exaggerated and goofy as the norm because of lore reasons that can get explained later. But a lot of actually goofy and unhinged characters have these traits reflected in their very appearance. One Piece very much has a distinct style for "normal" humans and even it alone is more freestyle and less anatomically realistic compared to most anime. This is pretty much the reason that most people who are new to One Piece find the characters to look "weird"
