The most important thing to remember with dealing with anxiety is to remember that you are the only one that has it and everyone is judging you and thinking terrible things about you.

TBH, thinking about all the things that could go wrong _in the future_ sounds like a great way to take back control of one's life. Having anxiety disorder is more like obsessing over how much one's life is already irreparably ruined because of something embarrassing that happened 10 years ago and probably no one else remembers.

My teacher let me have a rocking chair in class, because it helps me get over my anxiety... It really helps! Some people think I'm just playing cards when I say I need the chair for "anxiety" but I'm not. I'm being completely honest. My friend who sits at the table with me, will get to class before me, and switch my chair, (which is pretty much the average plastic school chair but with the legs attached so I can rock) and switch the chairs. She says "oh I wanted a turn with it" and my other friend told me she was talking to her about it and said "she says she needs it for her *makes finger quotes* anxiety, but I want a turn. It's annoying, because she just wants the chair for fun, when I need it to actually focus on my school work...I've given her small hints about it, like she tried to make a schedule for it (ugh) and I said "why? You know i need it for anxiety, right?" So on so on. I know I may seem childish butting heads over some chair, but the fact is, it's hard for me to focus

Medication is there to help us overcome the worst. It's part of the solution, not the solution itself. Anxiety, like broken bones you get from jumping off a roof intentionally, are a result of your own behavior. Pain and anxiety are warnings we have in us, telling us we're under attack or stress, compromised, not doing it right. If you get hurt from putting your hand on a heated stove, you learn, but anxiety... not so easy always.

you should anxiously write about something cool like a badass grand battle, or maybe like a guy with finger knives that kills teenagers in their dreams, or like a big ass flesh ripping robot that turns death row inmates into a delicious cheap food source. you may even be able to write a few books and sell them and become a famous author

Guys, best way to tackle anxiety is to deviate attention our attention from it, like by talking to people/loved ones, following hobbies, try to look more towards outside world and get engrossed in it, coz looking inside leads to loneliness and deep, unhelpful thoughts only So, Get out of the head and get into the moment 😄

just to say: what the "doctor" said is what I personally doing to overcome anxiety 😅 Think about all the worst case scenarios really hard. They will either become meaningless after 1 or 2 hours - or you figure out that your stress level is just really high right now and there is nothing really to worry about.

It really helps to have an aide with you who can ask you "why?" every hour or so, so you can eventually be able to scream back "IT'S ALL I KNOW!" That resolves any further issues that your absence that day may have caused.

fighting anxiety is just digging yourself deeper in the anxiety illusion. All fighting does is tell the mind that theres a problem, when in reality there was never a problem in the first place, all you can do is nothing. Fighting anxiety with thoughts is like biting your own teeth, you cant fight thoughts with thoughts.

The best way to overcome anxiety is not to think every single thing is a disaster. Things happen to everybody, job loss, illness etc. Nowadays not getting the make up or shoes right, or kids being brats, losing something is made into something called ‘ my mental health is bad’

It's a joke...but it almost isn't. It's actually a pretty neat idea (if not taken to their comedic extremes, of course!) That's part of what makes The Onion so brilliant: that everything they do has a nugget of truth embedded in it that gives it plausibility and makes it relatable. It's like looking at a mirror-version of the real world where everything is basically the same, but hilariously exaggerated and twisted. Always a poignant commentary on our equally insane real world!
