My band camp experience: My cabin mate tried to make ramen, spilled water on the stove and it burned on there. So, we promptly asked one of our directors, Mr. Rohr if he had any soap as we also burned rice, so the kitchen was a mess. He said he didn't have any soap, so we went back to our condo. While I was in the shower, the other five girls in the condo found some dish soap under the sink. They poured the entire bottle into the dishwasher. When I got out, they had all home to do something else, and I was left looking at the mountain of bubbles slowly oozing out of the dishwasher. I called them, and they all came back and freaked out. One girl took a picture, and she and I took it to Mr. Rohr later that night, spawning the best inside joke quote in the Allen Band "Mr. Rohr, we found the soap."

Our director was once out so the sub had to come... Okay, so we're allowed to go straight from lunch to band and start warming up before class so that we can start music right away. However, the sub had no clue how to instruct or anything so she walks in to what sounds like the devil had arrived but its just us warming up and starts screaming that we are all too loud. Long story short, we ended up watching like five videos on music that day. Our band director the next day started saying, "Oh geez the saxes probably looked like giant bludgeons or something, the oboes were lil stab-stab thingies and the flutes were lil katana guns" and to this day I still think that half the subs trying to direct the band thing that xD
@greenfrog28916 жыл бұрын
When our band directors are not there the marching band conductors (senior students) run the class instead of calling in a sub. Basically, they just ask everyone what pep song we want to play and we do that. Former drum major here..... I'm 42 now and there's actually one of my old shows from 1996-1997 on KZfaq....... but for real, hard core band nerds NEVER let spit on our shoes bother us...... it was a way of life. I actually still have passes from other classes to the Band Room in my memory book from my Senior Year. My Senior year, 3 of 4 classes were band for the first half of the year and 4 of 4 for the last half. My college minor was music (I was pre-med) and was sporting a music scholarship. I was a Colossal Band NERD and loved every second of it. We were a family and my closest relationships were with other band members. Most of us stay close to this day. I would not change one thing about being a "Band Nerd". I wore, and still wear, that title like a badge.

As a band kid, this is ALL true XD we do some of the craziest things ever in class. Here's a list: -"I TOUCHED THE BUTT!!!" 'Dude, you're so gay' -*kid in an empty cooler* "STOP SHAKING THE FREAKING COOLER" -Everyone seemed to be an expert at gynastics without having the slight knowledge of it. -'WHERE THE F*** IS MY REDE!?!?' -'ITS HOT OUT HERE!!! THIS SUCKS' -Naruto run -*When the band director's not home* bom BOMBOMBOMBOMbomBOMBOMBOMbombom!!!! -H*** YEAH CAROWINDS!!! -Waterfalls of spit coming from the Tuba that hasn't been emptied in years -Are you a furry? -"Yeah, were basically a cult." -OUR CLASS HAS GONE TO S***!!! And all in the two weeks we started school... And some things that I can't list at all because of how insane we are.

Ace Wave Hahaha, my band had a lot of fantastic quotes like that. - “Right now you’re a one-ounce cupcake with fourteen pounds of strawberries on top.” - “If you put your hat in my spot, I will *cut* you.” - “WHERE IS THE FLAGPOLE?!” - “Shelby, your left foot is on your left side…” - “I was gonna wipe my eyes, then I realized I had spit on my hands.” - “Does the met say 156?” - “No, it’s 155!” - “Now?” - “157!” - “How about now?” “155!” - “One. Five. Six.” - “You didn't even change it!” - “Is it 156 yet?” - “No, it’s 154!” - “What was that?” - “Now it's 159!” - “Come on…” - “Okay, you’re good!” - "I am a flag poncho.” - “I wonder if it’ll help you if I shake the tuner.” - “In all my time in the band program, I have contributed two things: creating the ‘Hough course’ pun, and wearing a mattress.” - “If you value your hand, don’t do the Hey Song with him!” - “Flutes, it says ‘solo’ not ‘solo I can’t hear you’.” - “We’re gonna put a new dynamic in at measure 16. It's spelled N-O-T-H-I-N-G.” - “How did someone find out that putting a piece of wood on more wood made music?”
