There's a scene where she's looking jealously at Penelope and up front it makes the most sense that Fran is just jealous that Pen and Colin are having an easier time getting their engagement accepted, but the intensity of the look is just so unexpected that I can't help but think it may have been a sign of Fran's sexuality and she may have had a crush on Penelope as well and that may have added to her jealousy of the situation

I thought she was just being awkward as usual 😅 I really thought it was her social anxiety kicking in, I really didn’t see their chemistry at all! I didn’t read the books, so I had no idea Michael/Michaela was going to be her future partner after John.

nobody read those books before bridgerton. pls be for real. Those books were toxic garbage - almost everything the show has changed, it has done more the better, including michaela. no one has even seen enough of her or their new love storyline to be spouting this much hatred/anger. It would’ve been really interesting to see her struggle with the idea of a new love after the death of her beloved husband but it kinda just seems like they are pushing John away as if they weren’t in love after just getting married

Exactly! We all know how Netflix is pushing every show to have LGBTQ characters even if it doesn’t fit to the plot. But when it evolves the main characters and doesn’t fit to the storyline the show becomes so cheesy and awkward to watch. The only LGBTQ characters that I really liked so far was in Queen Charlotte Brimsley and the other guy(can’t remember their name). The rest of it was extremely awkward to watch!

The book is full of non consensual actions and Shonda doesn’t do things the old way she always makes things new and in a sense better; queer people have always existed and both the Author and the showrunners agree with the changes because they don’t impact the story overall it only adds

yh but there was no need to change a pivotal part of the book, they could have made a new character to celebrate the queer community. that book was one of my favourites because it addressed a lot of women's issues and situations that aren't spoken about enough, such as being widowed and miscarriages and the effect of them on a woman's mind. also francesca was never supposed to be in love with anyone else during her marriage with John because she wholeheartedly loved her husband. thisnwhole change just felt forced and unnecessary. what r they gonna do with her season now? she obviously can't marry her, and a romantic relationship seems far too unrealistic

I would disagree about the representation point. In the three seasons and spin off, there has been one male gay couple, the one bisexual male artist, and Benedict having a bi threesome. The only sapphic rep we have is the unnamed characters in the male characters sexual encounters. They exist to demonstrate the male leads promiscuity, not sapphic relationships. Personally, I would have preferred Cressida to be sapphic, as that would have added a layer to her character and why her attraction to men always feels vapid. I don’t really care about this gender swap. The gender also doesn’t impact Francesca’s neurodivergence so idk why you brought that up. Queer neurodivergent people are fairly common. Basically, I’d have preferred they did a queer storyline for a different character and understand people want to stick to the books, but also let’s not act like sapphic people aren’t starved for any representation in the bridgerton universe.

@@whatsherfacegal I’m guessing they are gonna let John live longer than the book, enough time for Francesca to miscarry her first baby with John , they try again , she actually ends up pregnant and having the baby but then he dies . In Scotland , Michaela can actually inherit the land and money and title of John so it could work 🤷🏽‍♂️ but they would never be allowed to legally marry . But yeah this would’ve been so much more appropriate for Eloise.

Real diversity /not forced? (my arse) Filling the show with black people and a touch of Asians is not diversity. Where are the Latinos and Native Americans? naming Benedict's lover as Sánchez while the actor has eyes bluer than the sky; It's a poor attempt to have a 'Latino' in S3 ..They ruined the show from the beginning with their need to appear diverse. In 1800 the British aristocracy only has white people and they should've respected that.
