Install a tensioner and lengthen the chain. Makes the process much quicker then installing or reinstalling the chain. Not to mention you can re tension the chain so it doesn't slept off in the future

Why not sift it as you're putting it in the trucks? Just means building the frame so the trucks can park under it.

What I don't understand is why the miners don't learn to cut. If they do the cutting in the off-season and sell direct to the end customer, they cut out the buyer and the cutterand the retailer and very likely double or triple their income.

They need fast profit to pay for diesel, leases and machinery.

@@fightfiend Fair enough, but it traps them in a cycle of low returns - most of them seem to live hand-to-mouth and never achieve the financial independence that would justify such brutal working conditions. There's a documentary somewhere on KZfaq about a family of miners who do their own cutting and retail direct to end users. They were pretty prosperous compared to most, so it can definitely be done.

The values on gems like this are always inflated. While gold has a market value, opals and other gems are only worth what a buyer is willing to pay. Why don’t you start talking about money after the stones have been sold and stop putting phony values on them. It’s getting old.
