The tank is amazing and you look good. I think you need to give yourself more credit as to what your Aquascaping abilities are. Your tanks are always beautiful. This one is sensational. Put me in the drawing for the heater. I could always use a better one and if I am guessing this one is quality!

I have a fully filtered UV lighted 3,500 gallon Koi pond in my back yard with 10 Koi. Plus a 20 gallon indoor tank with various fresh water fish. It has always been a fun hobby. I am just learning about discus fish and find them so beautiful and with some good personality. I appreciate all this information on your KZfaq page. Maintenace wise, seems it is quite like keeping a Koi pond but indoor. Sometimes I feel I am more of a water keeper than a fish keeper. 😊

Absolutely beautiful setup and your sand is immaculate, but I’m wondering…how do you get the leftover food and detritus out from in between rocks and driftwood?

My trick is to feed the fish with the pumps and air stones off for 5-7 minutes or until the food is gone. This gives me an area that is a clear spot in the tank and food does not get into the rock area. Poop does so I vacuum over the top of the stones once a week and I never see any waste. Shutting pumps and Air Stones off during feeding really helps prevent over-feeding as well as keeps your water cleaner. I also do a water change (25%) every day on every tank and that does wonders as well. I hope you will both "LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE"@@pacificreefer4495

I found your video very informative. I have a 150g marine aquarium (just fish) for decades and when I moved I broke it down. I've always loved discus, but was afraid of their requirements. I think I'm going to give it a go. Thanks again for your tips and tricks.

Love this tank! Have you ever tried the reticulated Siamese algae eater? They seem to eat algae well throughout their lifespan.

@@aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto I’m sorry it’s called the reticulatus or spot tail algae eater. They’re in the same family as the true SAE but are better long term. I recently acquired a few at a rather large size and they have completely destroyed the algae in my tanks.

Awesome! Very informative video as a beginner, i have a question that,do we really need to have a center brace support like a 120cm length aquarium ? I have a 120cmX50cmx40cm with a 10mm thickness glass. Please advise. Thank you one again for the informative video

Is this a tank you made or is it a tank you purchased? If the latter it should have come with a brace if it was needed, but if it was something you had made it probably requires something. I don't have a perfect answer for that one, but I would get something after-market if it were me.?

I love the simplistic nature of your aquarium. I am getting ready to set up a new 150g tank and am watching many discus videos for inspiration. Do you have trouble with nitrates due to a relatively low plant stock? I know you said you do a lot of water changes because it is a highly visable tank in your home. Thank you for sharing!

Nitrates are never high! What you don’t see is the plants growing from the AIO section of the tank. This helps a great deal. If you have a sump you can do the same thing.

Was looking to use black sand in a small area at the front of the island styled drift wood but now you have me rethinking it. What's the draw back of using a darker substrate?

Some of the fish may Pepper up to try and blend in. I never use dark substrate.
