The Presidential Records Acts says that ALL records generated by the President's office for the state belong to the citizens of the United States. This includes all gifts given by foreign entities as well. It does not matter if the records are classified or not. This does not apply to records generated by politicians in the Senate or House. Obama left Trump one of the best economies in US history and Trump continued with it. Then the pandemic happened tanking the economy here and worldwide. Trump did back the rapid development of the vaccine which was good as it allowed the economy to get started back up sooner than it would have. During the pandemic gas was cheap because there was a huge glut. Production of oil was high before the pandemic and then demand just collapsed. So much that companies were renting old tankers to store the stuff. In some cases they had to pay others to take some of their inventory as you can't just shut off oil wells like a water faucet. Several smaller producers went bankrupt. No one was borrowing so interest was low. The economy Biden inherited was not in good shape. Almost all of the economists predicted we would not recover without a recession. Trump predicted we would have a depression worse than the Great Depression. Instead we have one of the strongest economies of the G20 nations. Unemployment has been at record lows for so long you'd have to go back to the 60's to see something close. Inflation has come down to near normal levels. Interest rates are within the historically normal range. We had such low interest rate under Obama and Trump is why today they seem to be high. The US is pumping more oil under Biden right now than ever before. I don't know what else you could expect on that front. Maybe let Russia take over Ukraine and stop all of the embargo on them. But that would be disastrous for one of our largest trading partners the European Union. And it would usher in the re-emergence of a new USSR. The pandemic allowed Trump to enact border controls because of the Public Health Emergency. In normal times the president doesn't have that authority. They would need Congress to change the laws. There was an agreement where the democrats conceded to many of the republican demands for a border deal but Congress did not pass it. Trump did not want the bill as would have given Biden a "win" and taken away the public's anger at the problem at the border. It was a great bill for the republicans and if they wanted more they could always do that whenever they again controlled all 3 branches. The administration under Trump in 2018 could have passed any bill they wanted as they did control all 3 branches. You should talk to your representative as to why they didn't pass those laws back then.
