The five male Sims were definitely an homage to the Marx Brothers. They were a group of super popular comedians and actors from the 20's to the 40's. The most iconic thing from their legacy is probably the "Groucho Glasses," which were based off of Groucho Marx's look: they're the plastic black glasses with the bushy eyebrows and fake pink nose that are synonymous with disguises.

@@Rekowcski I'm curious why the family in The Roundhouse have things for twin toddlers and only one toddler, sometimes they "forget" the toddler things in houses that have only children from the beginning of the world to indicate that the parents kinda neglect the kid and don't even bother to get rid of the toddler stuff and buy children stuff for the poor child besides a new bed.

The builds in this world are beautiful. It just drives me crazy that EA hasn't dropped the prices on any of this stuff even though its so old. I got some of the expansion packs half off on Origin (they went on sale for like less than a week). But the worlds never go on sale. Like EA plans to just keep milking that cash cow forever and ever. And charging extra for the boardwalk and the carousel, ugh.

When I was younger, I thought Art Deco was an 80’s thing, because of seeing it in Miami Vice and Scarface. The pastels and the glass block windows really give it that aesthetic. My mind was blown when I found out Art Deco was from the 1910’s. It’s surprisingly modern for that time period.

Since showers did not really begin to populate in households until the 1950's (1960's in some areas), in the US, it makes sense that you really should not find any in Roaring Heights (although they did have some scattered throughout, here and there). I know that the Carousel was a disappointment, but the Store has the Carnival Stuff and even a carnival venue (World of Wonder Carousel Collection, complete with a big carnival tent), and if you follow the daily deal rotation (found in the Sims forums), you can find it real cheap, or even free if you enter build challenges or the gifting forums. It goes really well with the Boardwalk in Roaring Heights. It fits well in Starlight Shores and Mystic Falls too. I would say, you can put a carnival in every world, or even use pieces for the festival lots.

The boardwalk actually makes me angry. As you were panning around, I saw a cabinet radio, a billiards table, and other things that would've made the houses make so much more sense. I shouldn't have to be the radio fairy giving every family their very own one. All of those mansions with no billiards room! BTW the family living at The Stage is a reference to the Marx Brothers a comedy group active from the 30s through the 50s that made movies including Duck Soup.

I've only really played Sims 2 and a bit of 3 but has EA ever made a buffet or a china cabinet ? Those are two things that would be quite fitting in a dining room! In fact, my parents had both in theirs. And they have several different kinds of bookshelves why not a china cabinet? These were some really nice houses and I really liked some of the deco style wallpapers. I wouldn't put a loud patterned wallpaper with a loud patterned rug but that's just me.
