the problem is the corruption in these country, they cant tell me exactly why i would want to spend such money to live in such backward country, people mostly buy these properties for tourism because of the history these countries have

Wow. I’ve loved this house from the moment I saw it. I know I ain’t nothing but a Kentucky hillbilly, but this house made me cry, the first time I saw it. I look for it every afternoon and can’t to see what the new owners have done with it.

Я подумала, что вы пошутили, когда в начале ролика скащали про руины. Этот исторический дом достоин того, чтобы его восстановили и дали ему вторую жизнь. А ещё хотелос бы на машине времени побывать в нём в те времена, когда его построили, думаю тогда он был прекрасен.

It's close to the Royal Palace so was certainly the property of a senior advisor.

Are riads typically made of brick with a plaster coating?

Good quality Riads are built of red brick, sometimes containing natural local stone. The walls are built on underground slabs of clay which act as foundations and seismic moderators (not that there is a lot of seismic activity in Marrakech). The bricks are then covered with a thin layer of cement and plaster is applied before painting. Lesser quality Riads can have walls built of "Caillasse" - a mixture of beaten earth and pebbles - within a thin cement envelope. These structures are inherently less stable.

Great court, I perfer that older style. Much more pure than the 19th Century riads. I thought the Kasbah has some problematic limitation to own a plot.

It's actually in pretty decent condition for an old Palace. The ceilings would have to be replaced anyway. The brick walls are solid. Obviously a major restoration project but I've seen these old riads in worse condition ...

575k? It’s a tear down. Doesn’t even look structurally sound it’s so far gone. Huge space, but that price doesn’t seem realistic 🤷‍♂️good luck of course, but I just don’t see it

It's not a tear down, Keith. Keep the good walls around the courtyard? Strip everything else. Add a first floor and a terrace. The m2 price is very reasonable for this quality of old Palace. I'm sure it will sell quickly. And the lucky buyer will double the money after restoration. Just saying.

@@CarlosAlberto-ii1li Not at all. This is waiting for the right owner. It is a steal at this price. 520m2 of freehold with a ruined palace on it. Land in this district is now at 13'000 euros m2. The thing is the renovation cost, probably around E400K. And for the person who grasps the nettle, the property will be worth at least double the expense when completed.
