From 6th Overall Pick To Complete NBA BUST! Jarrett Culver Stunted Growth

In the 2019 NBA draft, Jarret Culver was selected 6th overall, before solid NBA guys like Coby White, Tyler Herro and NBA champion Jordan Poole. Culver was prototypical height for a wing, and did show he had a willingness to guard on defense that helped make him a top 10 pick. Minnesota actually moved up in the draft to take him, but after Cleveland took Darius Garland it’s said they settled for what they thought was a star in Culver, after what he was able to do in college, leading his team to the national championship game. Jared was a sophomore by then with 2 NCAA tournaments appearances for Texas Tech, going on a cinderella run that finished with his name square in the middle of lottery talks. Minnesota moved up from the 11th pick, trading with phoenix to land at 6, where the Cavs took Darius Garland a spot earlier than expected, who just a few years ago signed a 190+ million dollars contract locking him up until 2028-29. Jarrett Culver on the other hand in 24 years old and already out the league, where it seems he done with the NBA, or at the very least, will have an uphill battle to fight to make it back there. He played on 3 teams in 4 years before the league had seen enough, demoting him to the G League, where he’s playing well, but for these reasons Jarrett Culver didn’t amount to expectations and most even call him an NBA Bust. From 6th Overall Pick To Complete NBA BUST! Jarrett Culver Stunted Growth

Before there was Isaiah (IT) Thomas, there was this man. A dominant PG from Cleveland State, a mid-major, that got them to the Big Dance. Back in the day, if you performed well in the tourney, you got drafted. Period. He had good stats across the board but wasn't selected. Unfortunately, it was the first year the NBA reduced the draft to 2 rounds. Listed at 6'1" he was reportedly closer to 5'9". Maybe that's what scared teams away. They nicknamed him "Mouse" due to his diminutive size. But I still think this guy should've been in the league. What happened? JT, I need a video on this guy. Up next on Stunted Growth: Ken "Mouse" McFadden.

I would love for you to do a video on Nerlens Noel. He was originally thought to be a number 1 pick in 2013 but tore his ACL in college, which caused his draft stock to go down. His career was unremarkable, averaging lower numbers throughout his career. Not to mention the debacle of turning down a contract the Mavs gave him, which resulted in a lawsuit against his agent Rich Paul.

Man i was really rooting for this guy following him during the tourney and him being drafted by one of my favorite teams...Aside from him being overdrafted his and Minnys problem is that neither improved off of the success coming into the situation He needed to imrove his shot and his ball handling to maximize himself as a Guard in the NBA especially since he showed he could produce in College being a primary ball handler and Minny juat needed to give him the keys and let him develop and build up his confidence we saw how bad Garland was as a rookie but he was still given his time and was eventually chosen over Sexton the leash for JC was very short for a 6th pick you need more of an investment

A 1990 first round lottery pick of the Charlotte Hornets; this guy was so cocksure that he once told the media "Fuck Charlotte!" while playing for the Nets and was traded back there anyway. I was thinking Bagley III was a bust. But Culver and many other first rounders fit the bust category. Watch the first rounders in their firs pro season. you can see flash and greatness with some rookies. Culver is one of them players I am fan of but thats where he belongs. "Hope he gets it soon" player category.
