I've heard it's because of their small size, and since less mass is being pushed on them upon impact (body weight is to smal for compression of the body) they just land and go on. But good info! Cool to know thx :)

Oddly enough, one woman who DID take a DNA test to verify her two kids were hers during divorce proceedings got quite a surprise when the paternity was fine, but the maternal connection didn't match up. She was suspected of taking part in some kind of fraud or surrogacy scam, claiming someone else's children as her own, even though both she and her husband protested that no such thing was going on. She was pregnant with her third child at the time, so the court appointed an observer to be present during the birth and for blood samples to be taken from mother and baby immediately...and those didn't match up, either. However, a DNA test on the woman's mother confirmed a match with the infant as one would expect from a biological grandmother. Turned out that the woman had chimerism--an unborn, absorbed twin sister had "survived" in her, genetically speaking, and those alternate genes were present in her reproductive tract (a DNA test done on cells from her cervix DID match the infant), but not in her skin, hair, or blood. Look up "Lydia Fairchild" if you're curious.

Came to mention this. There's also cases of babies getting swapped at birth and such that has likely involved DNA tests, and horrifying cases of children being stolen and kidnapper pretending to be the mother. There's also stuff like babies being stolen at hospitals (was an article on abc today about a reunion in Chile of one such case, guy reunited 45 years after being stolen from his mother -- thousands of babies got stolen in Chile during a horrible time in their history), and being reunited via DNA tests :x

Exactly!! My parents raised my brother and I gender neutral before it was a common thing, not because of any ideologies they had, but because they didn't see a reason why we had to be restricted to certain types of toys if our interests lied elsewhere. We played with a lot of lego friends sets because of the lego animals, set up marble runs around the living room, walkie talkied from across the house, had nerf gun fights, and made jewelery/crystals/soap. I had no interest in dolls and he had no interest in cars. We both had a very fulfilling childhood. Anyway, the point is that if you offer your kid a range of toys and they go for the ones stereotypical of their gender (not because they were peer pressured into it either) then that should be just as celebrated as going for neutral or opposite gender toys, because its not about changing your child to be gender neutral it's about letting them follow their true interests.

I hate that "The bubonic plague disappeared without a trace" post. It did not. People still catch it every year.
