This video presents the bells d♭1 -e♭1 -g♭1 -h♭1 [re♭3 -mi♭3 -sol♭3 -si♭3] of St. Thomas' church in Stuttgart - Kaltental.
➥ Only the smallest bell [4] of the new St Thomas' Church bells from 1937, cast by the Kurtz bell foundry in Stuttgart, survived after the Second World War.
A new set of bells was finally cast in 1955. Also made by Kurtz, these bells were probably cast a little too low. As a result, the tone of the small bell was corrected relatively significantly to match the new peal.
The open suspension gives the peal a very direct sound effect. The very clear sounding character of the Kurtz bells is particularly emphasised in the pronounced direct sound. Despite this, a remarkable sound volume unfolds!
