"Watches are timeless," Alden Richards declares matter-of-factly. Having been fascinated with watches since his high school days, the Start Up PH actor has since amassed a covetable collection of luxury timepieces. For him, it's a valuable investment that could last for generations-granted that you know which one to get. "Not all luxury watches appreciate [in value]," the 30-year-old cautions, "but if you buy the right brands, then that's value for money."
In this episode of Designer Favorites, we get to see some of Alden's most treasured pieces. He believes that your watch choice "says a lot about you and how you are as a person", and his collection shows just how much of modern gentleman style icon he is. Masyadong tamad na kasi ang mga taong in charge sa Rolex ngayon, kaya medyo behind sila. Plus medyo predatory ang mga salesperson nila abroad (i.e., para ma una ka sa waiting list of purchasers, dapat may under the table agreement kayo). Kaya nakaka off talaga. It's a sad reality.

Rolex is not part of Holy Trinity.... Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, and Vacheron Constantin are the three luxury watch brands that make it up.

That is AWESOME!! Alden has his own trinity, Rolex is part of it. "Also known as the 'Big Three', the holy trinity of watches includes Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, and Vacheron Constantin. Rolex is not a part of the holy trinity in the watch world."

Nag dedepreciate ang value ng shoes. Nasabi minsan ni Alden sa isang interview na ang collections nya ay yong pwedeng Mai pagbili kung KAILANGAN or kung ayaw na nya. Yong mga toy collections nya - iron man, marvel, anime - nag appreciate ang value lalo na kung rare ito.

Beautiful collection thank you for sharing Alden. Thank you for including Rolex as one of Holy Trinity, i love my Rolex collections but i guess the other watch collectors wont be agreeing with it. 😊 because the Holy Trinity Consist of Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet, and Patek Phillippe.

Gosh, I wasn't expecting the vacheron constantin!!!!! that's an ultra luxury statement. Well the Rolex is expected but his collections is on another leveI. I, myself is working really hard to have my very first Patek Philippe.

Actually yung watch niya sa 0:29 might be the most expensive, if not the most expensive.. That looks like an A.Lange & Sohne Zeitwerk. On the grey market it costs P4M pataas depends sa complications.

Things you should know: 1) mechanical watches need constant servicing. You can choose not to service them but they will not tell accurate time in the future 2) Rolex is at the bottom tier of high end watches 3) Watches, like bags or sneakers, do not appreciate in value like land. They are dictated by the market so your so-called "investment" does not have an assured markup or profit If you just need something to tell you time, buy a Casio. If you want to be fancy, get the Casio GA-2100, aka the "Casioak", which looks like the AP Royal Oak. Quartz watches tell the most accurate time with no servcing and boasts long battery life. On that note, 4) Eminem, one of the richest rappers in the world, prefers to wear G-shocks

Probably not the best example of a watch collector. I would recommend for everyone whos into collecting watch is to see Henry Goldings collection. Its not that he has a mind blowing collection its how he present each watch and their stories.

Aldens watch collection is very diverse and very nice. agree with a lot of what he says but the only 2 things i noticed thats wrong is first, that Rolex is not part of the holy trinity. that would be crowned only to Patek, AP, and Vacheron and 2nd, these timepieces are not exactly accurate. they lose time eventually. Regardless, Rolex movements are one of the best and they have the best feeling bracelet and clasp, imo. However, i just hate how the AD's treat their customers. I'm hoping Rolex speeds up their move to remove all AD's and have corporate Rolex take over

He knows his watches! Super luxury! But Rolex isn’t a part of the Swiss holy trinity of watches. Vacheron Constantin (love his Overseas!), Patek Philippe, and Audemars Piguet make up the trinity.

How to pronounce brands and it’s collection I think is also important, and I think if your a real watch collector you don’t buy watches for business or investments. I totally disagree when he says brands is important unless if you’re rich of course. There’s a lot of brands out there that has better calibre or movements than Rolex, Seiko is a good start even casio g-shock.
