And 1999 megas vs 2001 megas would not have made a difference in the finals. Ruen's power was ahead of it's time and it won the event.

There's modern bboy now out on youtube and social media and it's all good. But I bet the OGs would sell their shit to fly in and see this live. This is golden.

As much as I love Crumbs, K-mel just has that East Coast B-Boy swagger that shows in his uprock to his downrock, and I just gotta give him respect for that.

I agree with you there are times Crumbs can be stiff, but other than that no one can deny giving him props for influencing a huge portion of the bboy world of today, because he was doing these types of strength freezes from long before it became a common thing.

he's an exception hehe. Crumbs is about 5'7, Hong10 when I saw him in person, 5'5 or 5'6

access to seeing how others breaked, which is why in this era, every state had a different style and look to their bboying. You could tell who was a Florida, Cali, or New York bboy by how they danced. They didn't have the luxury of just looking it up on youtube. Kmel dances with that original flavor because

The DJ sure dates this battle (if the VHS doesn't). If you tried to start a bboy battle with that song today, you'd might get some laughs, but I doubt anyone would run to the floor. The bboys were dope though. Crumbs and Kmel have really evolved since then, and still rock hard. I'd love to see this rematch today.
@Holyfiremikey16 жыл бұрын
lol, yeah, I never noticed that, and I had this full video from a long time ago lol. Crumbs' reaction was like "what the?? You got a probl....oh, it's just you Remind, alright cool cool" hahaha.

@CommonGroundArts Yeah, you're totally right, I was talking more about an electrofunk song getting played in a bboy battle, and I've got nothing against the music (it's some classic stuff), but it's just better suited to a popping battle. I don't think any experienced DJs now would play that for bboys.

Man, watching this makes me appreciate how much b-boying has evolved in the recent years. Also, ReMind is kinda short. Like, I think most b-boys are under 6'. I met him in Spokane a whiiiile ago. He's a great dancer and a real inspiration.
@Holyfiremikey17 жыл бұрын
People are saying Vengeance was in bad shape, but that's not the case. He was clean, smooth, he flowed, and the only reason he may look like he's in "bad shape," is because he's not doing big flips or what seems to be harder moves, but if you really know the dance, you'll see he's very technical and smooth.

I think a better wording to describe it is, most bboys are under 5'8. I mean, even guys who look tall on video, like Storm, is from what I recall, my height when I saw him in person, 5'6ish. Not saying anything bad about him, just that, bboys look taller on video.

Physicx and Hong 10 might take it against Remind and Crumbs, as they danced in this clip, but that would be a clooooose battle. Crumbs power is a fair match for physicx, and he's got a bit more style to my eyes, and remind definitely stacks with Hong10 on style... dammit, I wanna see that battle!

Not to diss you or anything, but bboying has gone through many phases, and it's only very recent due to easy access to bboy footage and interviews online, that this trend of doing the original mentality of bboying has come back in to trend. Peace, no disrespect bro, sorry if I said anything in a way that came out like that, laters and one love bro

Im just saying I have more appreciation boogie brats bboying, nice footwork, style is dope. Im also saying crumb's moustache looks terrible. thats it and thats all. I am aware moustaches cause no affect your footwork.
@Holyfiremikey15 жыл бұрын
he's a bronx/Florida bboy, and those two states trend have always been the traditional way. The way you talk about bboying from your comment, shows that you don't know your history, you just learned from youtube. Again, Ness would not say about Crumbs what you just did, if you want he has a youtube channel you can ask him yourself.

Vengeance really doesn't do it for me :/ dunno what it is but for me Crumbs and K-Mel killed it, Remind was pretty sick but like Vengeance i dunno i just dont think he killed it, Vengeance choked in his second round which is a little disappointing but a good battle none the less :)

Speedy from Germany, was doing elbow spins in the late 90's to early 2000. Of course unlike Physix, he did taps in between, but could get more spins than Physix on the elbow 90's. How about you go and find out and learn about the history before you can compare the history to the present "nowadays dance."
@Holyfiremikey15 жыл бұрын
the music, in his own way dude, just because it doesn't look the traditional way does not make it not feeling it. You don't realize this era of bboying is not like now. Now everyone can see everything on youtube, so bboying has become more universalized. Back then, you barely had any

Style Elements got robbed hardcore. One of the greatests crews in the world just about twice as old as Boogie Brats. SEC or Rock Force go down to be the greatest championship crew of all-time. RSC are just the Yankees of the game. This stuff goes pretty N2Deep. You new school guys better look into it. But don't say some random internet blogger didnt tell you guys the truth, and you newer guys gotta stop naming yourself Spidey. BBoy Spidey was the Jordan of the Game before he got shot.
@texplosiv17 жыл бұрын
I agree, Stylelements should have easily won. You could argue that K-mel matched Crumbs (keeping in mind every move K-mel does is harder for him than Crumbs cos he's like a foot taller; I think though that in this particular battle Crumbs outdid Kmel) but without doubt Remind smoked Vengeance! What were the judges thinking??
