Ever since he was a child, Manfred Büschel dreamed of getting a Porsche. But then he stumbled across a Rolls-Royce on the Internet and it was love at first sight. He bought his 1962 Silver Cloud III 16 years ago - at a car dealership, not online.

To me the most beautiful Rolls ever made . I would take a Cloud over any later Rolls every day ! That flowing line on the waist has never bin bettered , and works so well with the squared off radiator and cabin , not to mention the fabulous dashboard . I would have it in dark green with silver top and beige or saddletan interior , gorgious !

Manfred would do well to spend fifteen minutes to reverse the picnic trays: the handles should have the deeper part pointing toward the centre of the car.

have had 2 of these; honest machines, actually, but rebuilding the engine is a pain in the a** and expensive...getting old cylinder sleeves out of the aluminum block is dicey and the 0 rings and grooves I could go on and on....my 40 Packard straight eight is ten times quieter and more reliable

This is not a Silver Cloud lll according to the year 1962. If it's a '62,it is series ll model. The series lll was from '65 to April of '66 as the last Silver Cloud ever made.

Paul Kirkland, Silver Cloud III commenced delivery in September 1962, and the last was delivered in May 1966.

SC III was issued in 1962 indeed. I also have one.

The quad headlights says Sliver Cloud 3. They got the year wrong.

Cloud 3's were first released for sale in late 1962. The hood and grill are lower than the Cloud 2, the lights also fit the front in such a manner as to necessitate much smaller fenders. The dash boards and caps are very different than the previous year's model; and beautiful as it may be, there are those that prefer the Cloud 1 which was the last of the six cylinders. All Clouds and corresponding S models were amongst the ten top designs of the 20th century.
