3:01 when adding the solidify modifier, those two back faces created by extruding the back vertices extrude in the z axis of their respective normals, it seems you somehow made them extrude along the global y. When I follow the directions step by step it results in the extruded faces poking out of the leg radius from side view

What is the difference between using Edge crease, Edge bevel Weight with the bevel modifier, isn't it better just the support loops and the ctrl b bevel? I ask because of the number of polygons.
@VertexArcadeАй бұрын
Using Edge Creases and Edge Bevelling are procedural, so instead of using Ctrl+B to bevel the vertices, we use the Bevel modifier and the Edge Bevel Weight to procedurally allow us to control how big the bevels should be. Then at any point we can come back and change how big the bevels are without modifying the mesh

was good but you have missed so many parts which is unknown for me because im beginner ^^ so the final result is far different

Tried on 4.1 blender not even close tried multiple times back and forth checking the steps and still everything is off sadly not even close to the dimensions

I'm really confused about how you are switching on and off the modifier at 3:50, i've done everything up to that point and I'm quite honestly stumped, i wouldn't say i'm new to blender but i haven't got too much experience any help would be appreciated thanks

All I'm doing is adding the Subdivision Surface modifier using Keyboard Shortcuts, Ctrl+1(keyboard not numpad) will add the modifier with 1 level of subdivision, Ctrl+2 will add 2 levels and so on!

I also got confused, Going from solidify 3:16 to a full wireframe mesh at 3:31, Found a forum where they said object -> Convert -> Mesh. Does the trick but it also converts the mirror :/

4:52 tells me the issue can be fixed with "holding edge loops". but i can't find this feature. What am i missing?
@VertexArcade5 ай бұрын
Ctrl+R is the shortcut to create an Edge Loop in Blender. Holding Edge Loops is just the term for adding loops close to edges so that any subdivisions don't round edges too much
@prox49833 ай бұрын
I think to "holding edge loops" you need to create the edge, select it completely and then Ctrl + B

What if you dont have a side view of the furniture? I use Ikea alot and they dont have side views
@VertexArcade5 ай бұрын
Unfortunately then you'll just have to roughly match the shapes. You could set up a camera with an image of the chair from an angle and try and match the perspective and that will give you a rough guide

Now I’ll ask a better question. 3:16 there was a timeskip after that, what did you do during it?
@VertexArcade7 ай бұрын
There was no time skip, all I did was press numpad 3 to look from the side view so that I could add in the bottom part of the chair

Kinda hard to keep up with your movement, and I kinda messed up when it comes to the blue part on the coushins. other than that this seems nice. Ps, when mentioning the seems, you go waaay to fast. I end up having to jump back and forth to try and understand what is being said.
@VertexArcade8 ай бұрын
I'll keep that in mind for next time, thanks for the feedback!

@@VertexArcade Np, Not quite done yet, got the materials left. Even though I was a bit rough, A lot of it is still really good. However, just getting compliments won't make one learn anything. Likewise, just comparing my result to yours tells me I gotta work harder. So your tutorials are a big help. Hope you make more great videos, I'll be waiting :D
