This actually hit a soft spot in my heart. Before my dad passed away, growing up I never really had a traditional father son relationship where we did things together. A lot of times we spoke very little to one another, we let our actions speak for us, but rarely ever had arguments, especially one like this commercial. I imagine if we ever did, this would be a similar thing I would've done for him.

This is how I feel about my dad's F250, he's selling it this year, and it's the truck I grew up in. All the road trips and vacations and off-road stuff we did makes me miss it. It was my first drive, my first tow, and arguably my first love 😭.

This made me remember my old long gone dad who only was driving Volvo when i turned up in Ford, VW, Toyota, Honda, BMW, Citroën and more and finally one day visited in a Volvo S80 and i nearly couldnt get him out of that car. Cars are for sure important for some of us. 😀

The moment of handing back the toy. We all can understand it, but only a father can feel it.

The language doesn’t matter, the car doesn’t matter; families are the same the world over. A son thinks his father is to controlling, rebels, and later in life realizes he was wrong and wants to amend with his father. I made an assumption when he looked at the old car, that the father was dead and he came home for his mother. This is how life plays out too many times. Don’t wait until it is too late, swallow the pride and tell the person you miss that you love them; because tomorrow may be one day more than either of you have. Subaru really hit it out of the park with this one. And their dog family ones are great too, more humor and less crying in those.

I cried when I saw this video. Still missed the day my Dad brought everything to me, exactly EVERYTHING from toys to bikes, and the time he "teached" me how to drive. A real Asian Dad always bring all the best thing to his son, silently. Thank you Dad.

My first car was a beater Subaru that had a hole in the radiator and holes in the wheel wells because it had been used as a Arkansas mud Hopper illegally imported into California without the proper emissions paperwork. Two weeks after I drove that car The rusted steering wheel fell off and I replaced it with a socket wrench that I spot welded to the drive shaft and I drove it like that one handed until the California highway patrol stopped me one time because they thought I was driving without a steering wheel and the cop told me like I'm fucked if I can remember if there's a law against this or not but it just doesn't look good so I bought that car for $300 and I sold it for scrap a year later. That was when I was 19 and that was in 1985. I absolutely love this commercial because my father died 8 years ago and even though I'm 56 I still miss talking to him at the end of his life as he was pushing 70.

This little advertisement made me appreciate the little things in life. You might understand how I arrived with this answer but this what I learnt from it.
