For size reference that REALLY puts this kit in perspective, the 2015-2017 STIs have 12.8 in/12.4 in rotors in the front/rear respectively. The 2018+ STIs have 13.4 in/12.8 in in the front/rear respectively. This kit has 14 in/13.8 in rotors! The 2018+ STI brakes were already an upgrade, but they are actually heavier. This kit lighter than both the Brembo kits and that is the best part of this kit. Lighter unsprung rotational mass and stronger braking power a huge upgrade and is insane for this car! Nice choice on the color it makes the car look so good. I will be keeping my 2019 STI Brembos because I love the color and the performance is perfect for me.

I’ve even read some people think that the 2018+ brembos are overkill. I like them a lot one of the reasons I went for a 2018+

Very nice! I'm the same way with you. I would upgrade my rear brakes to 4 pot even though its a little bit of overkill. I want that instant emergency stop on the dot if that time comes something just jumps out in front of me. Not to change topics of your video title pertaining to your review of your BBK, I think your interior mod that may likely complete it would be a matching sport/racing seat on the passenger side to match your driver seat. That would set it off for sure! It looks good! I will miss the rumble sound once you change to equal length headers.

That price for a Rotora kit is actually not bad considering you get 6POT Front and 4POT Rear compared to Stoptech 4POT Front and 2POT Rear. Now I know I'm gonna save up and get a Rotora Kit for my WRX. 😁

As a salty WRX owner with the “performance package” (lol) that doesn’t include brembos it’s good to see a review of a BBK other than factory BBK. $6k is a pretty penny especially for a brake kit but agree overall it’s a worthwhile upgrade. Hopefully my next ride will have a BBK 🤣

I had a 2019 WRX premium, I traded it for an 2020 STI . The brakes alone are worth the extra money . You can upgrade to the STI brembos for about $3000-$4000 used (highlighter yellow 6 pot)

@@midnightquest9758 I got the first year they added the performance package so I got shortchanged. But car is almost paid off. Just going to buy the new STi in a few years once they iron out some of the issues on new platform.

Regardless of brand BBK are all about stopping power and safety. The aesthetics are a byproduct of their superior design and materials. Form follows function. The OEM 2015 WRX brakes are totally inferior to the Brembo BBK I installed. As for colour, Canadian spelling, I went "No Brainer" red 🤣🤣

I mean it looks cool but for everyone debating upgrades: what problem are you solving? Most of these kits are more braking than your street tires/suspension can handle and it’s a lot of unsprung weight. Really, these cars actually would benefit from a lot *less* brake unless you’re tracking it aggressively and experiencing a problem. Otherwise, it’s expensive premature optimization if you’re doing it for reasons other than looks.

Wilwood is a great option as well. Not a fan of the overall caliper shape, but a nice kit.

Not sure if you have discussed this but thought I would bring it up as a potentially good topic. So I own a 2019 WRX and was considering an STI. The dealership actually steered me away from it by stating the ride was a lot more harsh and that I would not enjoy it. I know based on some research that while the STI does have a harder ride, you do get more driver feedback from it too. I use to daily my car but don't anymore due to covid and working for home. I never had an issue daily driving the WRX, sure at times it could be rough predicated on the roads and (pot holes). So my question is, what is your opinion on the STI harshness? Do you think its that harsh to not be enjoyable? Watching some of your driving vids, it doesn't seem that jarring.

Depends on what you are after. A solid rotor and pad upgrade on the 18+ brembos would be a worthy mod. From girodisc rotors and hawk 5.0 pads would be a great route. Although, if you are crazy like me, the rotora kit is worth it haha.

Totally fine. Pads are what squeak not necessarily rotors.

how do you not rub in the front with only the rears being rolled? i stopped rubbing when i raised the front 1/4 inch

Camber helps a lot, but the car doesn’t run anywhere front or rear.

@@Scoobyfreak86 how much camber do you run for your fronts? currently at -3 because my tires are just so big. Wasnt sure if i should get the fronts rolled along with the back so i can soften the dampening on my coilovers, im on 19/24 dampening so i dont rub lol its rough

-2.7 front -3.7 rear. Don’t roll the fronts. It never comes out right and the fender liners won’t stay in.
