These keychains are a great way to support your local community while also adding income to your sublimation business. These can also be done for other organizations such as animal rescue groups, cheer or dance teams, realtors (to use as gifts for their clients), etc.
Designs: I create all of my own artwork for these keychains. I do sell background bundles in a variety of colors to make designing easier for you. Simply add the logo and any wording you wish. Hello everyone! Just a word of advice. You should be reaching out to the schools or booster clubs and if they are interested, get the logos directly from them. Taking logos off of Google and selling these on your own may be copyright infringement. I reach out to schools and send them pricing lists and mockups without their logo. If they are interested, they send me official logo and I add those to the mockups. They then decide on final items they wish to purchase (I also offer drinkware, car coasters and ornaments) and I complete their order. The order goes to the booster club, they sell the items and keep the profits.

Great! Hot cutter isn't required, you can use scissors and burn the edges so they don't fray. The hot cutter just makes it way faster and easier on your fingers!

Yes, you could do dog collars and leashes! The gadget makes it SO much easier and faster! I used to cut webbing by hand until I learned that these existed!

Hi Stacey! I would love to do that, but I'm fortunate in that I work for a very large school district. I also do quite a few craft shows at different high school districts in the fall. My best advice is to find contact info for your local school booster clubs and contact them. If you have family, friends, neighbors, etc with kids in high school sports, they may be able to provide you with info. If any schools in your area have craft shows, these are often put on by the booster clubs. Attend as a shopper and see if you can make any contacts. Some also have Facebook pages, you could try contacting that way. Hope that helps!

Glad you enjoyed the video! Not sure it's really worth doing a video for the holder, it's the easiest thing ever. 1" pvc pipe cut down to about 4" longer than your roll. The pieces that stand up are about 4" taller than a full roll of paper from Sams Club. Then just get pvc connectors to connect the pieces. I had a ton of connectors from an old display I used to have and just used those. For the top, you just need 2 elbow pieces. For the bottom, I used 4 way connectors in order to make some "feet" for it.

Don't know if this wold be helpful to you or not. I don't have Bush room. I do, however have a metal self "stand". (Metal rails giving me four shelves). I simply put a boars on one end, use a rope to tie the roll to the top, screw a door guard, (flat piece of metal that goes on carpet at doorways) with a simple nut (as in nut and bolt) under it to create space for the paper and a Taylor's tape along the edge. If I want a piece, say 10" long, I pull ten inches and cut along the edge of the door guard.

Glad you liked it! In addition to these, I also offer drinkware, car coasters and ornaments. I send out pricing sheets to interested schools and they select their items and quantities. Pricing is based on a tiered system of 10-30, 31-75 and 76+ for all items. For the keychains...What I charge may differ from you need to charge to make it worth it for you. However, I do 10-30 for $5, 31-75 for $4.75 and 76+ for $4.50. I do have wholesale accounts with supplies and purchase supplies in large quantities, so my pricing may be cheaper. I've also got my rhythm down after doing 1000s of these and can turn them out very quick. Have to decide what works for you! Schools typically sell them for $8-$10. I have some other designs that I sell at craft shows as singles and those are $8.

Hi Crystal, Thank you for a great video. I watched earlier but forgot to send you a message. I would like to know what software you used to make this project. I want to use a good software but something that will not have a huge learning curve. I am just starting out and I liked the keyfobs you made. I am going to get that electric cutter and exhaust fan and the roll of poylester webbing but I don't remember what size you used. I hope you get a chance to read this and advise accordingly as my sublimation printer will be belivered tomorrow and i can not wait to get started. Thanks Crystal

Hi Kathleen! Welcome to the sublimation world! I use Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo for all my design work. There is a learning curve with it, but I do recommend using a true graphics software. The nice thing about Affinity is it's just a one time fee. They have tons of tutorials on their website and there are a lot on KZfaq as well. As for the size, I use the 1" width webbing and cut the pieces 11" long. I use 1.12"×11" for the full design (to ensure it is fully covered) but I use a max height of about .9 for logos, wording, etc. to make sure nothing important gets cut off. Hope that helps!

Just a little tip, test your tape on one first before you make an entire batch. Some heat tape will leave marks/discoloration. Looks like the tape in the video is good but some will leave marks.

Good recommendation 👍 I've used this same tape since I started subbing 4 years ago and not once have I ever had an issue with it. I am in the process of moving back to Albuquerque, New Mexico (US) to RE-Open my Acting Studio and we will also have Mystery Dinner Theatre... I will be paying for the custom made Lanyards to give to each student... This next summer we will have 1 Week Acting Summer Camps... at least 20 students a week... You can cut with scissors but I would recommend sealing the ends with a lighter then so they don't fray. It's possible, but definitely way more time consuming and hard on your hands!

Hi there! I leave a gap to allow space for taping. These were done on 8.5x11 paper, but I usually use 13x19. I did try using adhesive spray a few times, but didn't like it. I use an ET-15000 with Cyclone 2.0 ink.

You will have to play around with a bit to see what works best for you. What I do works for me and my setup, but there are so many different variables. I would start with increasing your pressure.

Welcome to sublimation! The paper is sublimation paper that is meant for sublimation. There are a lot of different brands but my brand of choice is HTVRont, which can be found on Amazon.

My colors are dull, and the webbing shrinks with heat so it starts to curl, and that causes them to ghost. 😥. Would you happen to have any advice for someone new to this? Hi! What program do you print from? What printer and ink do you use? What heat press, temp, time, how much pressure? There's a lot of different variables that can be causing issues. If you can give me more info, I may be able to help.

@MoxiFikaDesignCo. Thank you! I've printed from Photoshop and Illustrator. I use ink from ink owl. I use a manual press (has the manual lever), and I set the pressure to medium/high. I've tested color saturation, time (between 35 to 55 sec), and adhesive alternatives - tape vs. spray. I purchased 2 rolls, 1 is said to be polyester, and the other is a blend, but they look similar to me. The first test was the best test, but it wasn't great colorwise. It was washed out but it wasn't ghosting, and no adhesive was used... it's all over the place.

@@JasmineChestnutWimberly what printer and print settings are you using? What paper? You definitely want to go to the higher side for pressure. As for time, 35 is definitely not going to be enough. Should be somewhere between 50-60 seconds. What temp? Have you used a temp gun to verify your temp? How are your colors otherwise (on white, 100% poly)?

I sell them in bulk to the booster clubs at a wholesale price. They then turn around and sell them for about $8-$10.

Are you talking about the other keychains you can see in the background? That's black nylon webbing with ribbon sewn on. All of my webbing comes from Country Brook Design.

What I charge may differ from you need to charge to make it worth it for you. However, I do 10-30 for $5, 31-75 for $4.75 and 76+ for $4.50. I do have wholesale accounts with supplies and purchase supplies in large quantities, so my pricing may be cheaper. I've also got my rhythm down after doing 1000s of these and can turn them out very quick. Have to decide what works for you! Schools choose their own retail price, typically between $8-$10. I started marketing them at schools I did craft shows at. I also work in a HS so that has helped. You could always do a couple of samples to drop off at schools, find contact info for local school booster clubs, etc.

I was so excited seeing your video and had so many ideas of various groups I could make these for. I immediately began ordering the supplies based on the links in your description. After order 2 of the 50 yards of webbing from the link to Country Brook Design and paying $48 for each, I extremely disappointed to find out shortly after placing the order that the same company sells the same product on Amazon for $16 less each. As a widow looking for ways to earn extra money, I cannot afford to overpay for supplies/product. You suggested Amazon for several other supplies, why not suggest this product through Amazon when it is $16 less and the shipping is less expensive also?

Hi there, Those are just suggestions and what I use for supplies. Everyone is welcome to shop and browse and find what works for them. Shipping charges can vary based on location to the supplier. I did just look it up because I was curious, and for the 50 yard rolls, the pricing and shipping is exactly the same through both companies. However, I have a wholesale account with Country Brook and get a discount on supplies. Best of luck to you!
