My father was a police officer for 25 years 17 of them as the chief of police. The city he worked for about 5 years into his stent as the chief got a new mayor. They were cool with each other until approximately 3 years later one of his officers stopped the mayors son for a DUI. Sometime around 3AM my dad gets a call from the Mayor, she informs him of the stop and “demanded” he tell his officers to let them go and allow the mayor to drive the vehicle to her home. My father called the officer who initiated the stop and asked him for the full story. He explained it was a DUI stop, not only was the driver clearly intoxicated, there was an open container in the vehicle. He told the officer to proceed as usual and called the mayor back. He informed the mayor under no circumstances was she going to receive special treatment. At this point the mayor said to him “You have just made a big mistake against a very powerful enemy. Watch your back.” The silver lining to the story is that was on a recorded line and the mayor ultimately ended up resigning in disgrace. But the moral of the story is how disturbingly common these types of things happen. It’s sad and disgusting the amount of corruption there is in politics and law enforcement.

Doorley is an intimidator, who likley treated the police like shit, and although she has no control over the officer's employment, likely threatened them with that. Intimidation is powerful when this is your home town, you have a mortgage and a family and a potential black mark on your record. I can understand how this happens, I have seen intimidation in a few workplaces, at some point, there is a tipping point, where being fired is better than being employed.

The most egregious part of this affair by far is Doorley waving her DA's badge and trying to intimidate the officers in order to get special treatment. That is blatant corruption. The speeding and failing to stop pale into insignificance compared to this. She must be removed from office. In addition, it cannot be true that she would he prosecuting her own case. I'm a paramedic and an emergency nurse, which means that this "brotherhood" also applies to me. But the thing is, _we should be held to an even higher standard of adherence than the general public_ . Cops, judges, and prosecutors should meticulously adhere to the laws that they are tasked with enforcing (unless they're responding code 2 to a call). It's absolutely crucial that those who are tasked with upholding the law and administering justice are in no way _above the law_ . And emergency/critical care medical providers (including ER & ICU staff) and fire fighters should be driving extremely carefully, because we know exactly how bad the consequences of reckless driving can be first hand. When you've seen literal decapitations of innocent victims due to the reckless driving of another person and run codes of children ejected from vehicles due to a reckless parent, then you have *absolutely no business* subjecting the public to that type of driving. Cops also work these horrific accidents, so they really have double the accountability expectation.

This judge did this) A lot of times the person stopped would only get a warning or ticket but they make the situation worse by refusing to do what is required- show ID, insurance, car registration, answering question, refusing a sobriety test, getting a ride home, leave a restaurant when acting out. It was hard to see this 'officer' be so intimidated and to 'cave' to this wench, when he should have gone hands-on, cuffing her, and arresting her the moment she first refused to obey his lawful commands. Yikes, is this how she would advise her client to act under similar circumstances? For a DA, her lack of insight, objectivity and integrity is appalling. All she did was expose not only how corrupt she is but also the level of corruption within the police department.

That "submissive" officer was showing copious self-restraint in a situation that could've easily ended his career. Instead, it's the entitled DA whose career is in jeopardy & rightfully so. Professional courtesy extends an inch & not the miles it took for her to get to her house.

Yes another example of "Laws are for thee, not for me." Thank goodness for bodycams. Now we just need the police to stop muting bodycams (aka destroying state evidence) in their favor.

I am a great seer of the future. An image is forming... yes... yes... It's a document and it reads: "We have investigated ourselves and have found no wrongdoing." Or maybe I'm just a typical American who knows how these kinds of situations usually resolve themselves. I will turn in my psychic prognostication card if I turn out to be wrong.

"THE" DA. I noted too on both released body cameras how the conversations with her were more guarded, and notably that the Lieutenant had an off camera long conversation with her. It's telling how little she respected the Officer. I also found it questionable why she pulled into the garage and went into her home, while telling the officer to get out. I've seen some question whether she was DWI and stashed whatever she had in the garage or home.

Dr. Grande, thank you for bringing attention to this case. I had seen it in my stream before, but only first clicked on it when I saw your coverage. An important case of corruption and attempted intimidation.

in fact the policeman should not have got on the phone with the police chief, it is not his duty to get on the private phone calls with whoever is on the other side of the line, if the police chief wants to speak with his subordinate there are lines of communication through police channels designed for that purpose by law enforcement policies. in fact the moment "the DA" called the police chief to get her off she committed another criminal offense - the bribery

A very sweet friend is an RN. The only issue I had with her is that everywhere she went she drove like a lunatic. I had to stop riding with her because she drove much faster than own ability to control her car and nearly lost it on a winding backroad. Later I asked her how many traffic tickets she had and she said “none.” She said she’s been pulled over many times but always kept her nurses ID with her license and when the cop saw it she’d get a warning. She said when she’s in uniform, as soon as the cop see’s it all they say is “have a nice day ma’am.”
