Hey, it's me. We're playing Subnautica Below Zero. Rather I'm giving you an in depth guide on how to beat Subnautica Below Zero in under 7 minutes. Believe me this is the best and only guide you should watch if you're wanting to know how to beat Subnautica Below Zero.
Let's be honest if you don't know what Subnautica Below Zero is at this point then you must have been living under some planet sized rock but I'll tell you.
Subnautica Below Zero is a survival based game set on an alien planet where you, the main character are trying to find out what happened to your sister who died on this planet and must fend off creatures the size of two school buses just to get an answer

The reason your Alterra PDA doesn't have any Alterra technology blueprints is because it isn't an Alterra PDA, its a Xenoworks PDA. Robin works for Xenoworks but Sam did work for Alterra.

I love that in 2:26 you see the skull of a Reaper Leviathan hanging on the wall. If you read all the Subnautica PDA's you know that Bart and Paul left a message saying Marguerit dissapeared after getting grabbed by a Reaper. As in the reaper got ahold of her arm with it's mandibles and she REPEATEDLY STABBED HIM TO DEATH after the reaper dragged her through tunnels and caves into the Void. She then floated through the Void, using the corpse of the reaper as food, it's fat as combustible for fire and it's overall body as a raft until she reached Point Zero. Meaning she tore it's head off and kept it as a trophy after she got there Bitch is tough as steel, probably ate a bowl of nails for breakfast before she grew teeth. And once she did grew some she stopped pouring the Milk in.

I love the protagonists motive for this game: "I'mma gonna risk my life to land on this planet with no plan to get off of it, just to find out what happened to my Sister", with no plan on what she would do once she found out. The fact you can ignore that storyline and just do the alien side quest, which is also your only way off the planet, is kinda telling about how well the plot was written imo.

Yeah the story in early access was super different, your sister was in space radioing you and sending you supply drops, and a coworker is a traitor working with aliens to seal off the whole planet with forcefields and trap you. They really nuked it. Tbh I'm not sure any plot could match the first game. Being completely alone silently trying to survive and escape a hostile planet was something special.

@@32BitJunkie It's always hard to follow up a game like Subnautica with a sequel with as good a story. I kinda see why they went the way they did, making the game another one where you are alone, but having an outside connection would have added to the impact of the ending, assuming the ending was originally going in the same direction. Now it seems like a really odd take. "I'll find out what happened to my sister by going on this one way trip to the planet she died on" "Oh look, I've just made an alien friend who has a way off the planet and I get to see his entire civilisation!" "Wait, why did I come to the planet again? Oh yes, my sister was killed trying to stop Alterra getting hold of the virus. Maybe I should warn people off world about that... nah, ALIEN PLANET HERE I COME!!!" .

“It’s dog water so just take the prawn suit” is so true. Ice worms barely damage you. Equip a drill arm and not only can you kill stalkers that are super annoying on the the bike, but you can also harvest the resource deposits.

Yes, the Snowfox is definitely dogwater. I don't know why the devs thought they could successfully implement a hoverbike even when the walking was still buggy. Even with the Prawn, I still suffered a few glitches where I would fall through the terrain when using the grappling arm in the Arctic Spires.

the ice worm was so cool when it was first introduced into the game, then they patched it and made it knock you off your snow speeder every 2 seconds. The End. Also the old intro was so much better than the 'i'm going down to the planet' intro we got. I also despise the new PDA voice that is just text to speech when the old version in sub1 was much better. The only thing Below Zero does better are the graphics and the awesome weather effects we still don't have in sub1 patched in.

Canonically, below zero is two years after subnautica. Interesting to note that Below Zero’s map appears to be a completely different and much smaller map from Subnautica, altough they are on the same planet. There’s two massive craters on the same planet???

Yes, planets, even small ones, are HUGE. BZ is in a completely different area, because why can't a planet have multiple craters around the surface?

Uh... Yes? The crater in the first game isn't even THAT big, tbh. It's like 3 to 4 kilometers or so across. Even for a small planet, that's a TINY, MINISCULE part of the whole surface. Not that much of a stretch to say there are other areas that reach up towards the surface. We even see the below zero area from space as we leave the planet in the first subnautica, along with various other small islands.

@@thegamesforreal1673 yes, the maps aren’t that big, but they’re perfectly flat in all directions. Also the Subnautica crater is endless, it’s just that the edges are inaccessible. The planet would have to be enormous to make such a big crater look flat on its surface. However, the gravity appears to be more or less similar to earth’s.

@@NoOne-yv2ei I think you're confused about what they mean by the crater. The map you play on IS the crater, filled in with sediment. You're essentially playing the game on top of a volcano. The dead zone is the edge of the mountain that consistutes the volcano. The dead zone is just open ocean. The crater's edge is the massive drop off when going into dead zone. The crater is really just the playable area.

it didn't have the same spark. the atmosphere and coherency of biomes/storyline just wasn't there. the pacing was arguably better in some ways, but it also felt shorter overall. the loss of the cyclops, and the replacement seatruck/sea fox, hurt as well. Oh, and the whole land/cold thing was barely implemented. You have one large (barely anything there) landmass and the tiny island base, basically. And you get the arctic clothes fairly quickly on the big island where freezing could be a concern... and the clothes basically invalidate the chance of freezing. Big mess up. Selling this game as the "arctic" version but you barely experience any arcticness lmao

Let's be real the reason the soft rebooted the story was 2 fold, 1 the o.g. writer left, 2 they realized how dumb it was for an alterra employee not to have full access to every schematic from the start when they're actively working in site.

I ended up doing phi robotics super early, almost right after delta island/al-an, and was so confused by the whole Sam story because of how broken I made it. Also somehow got Al-An's SOS weeks after he entered my body LOL
