I have listened to this song for 7 years and today is the first time I have listened to it while in Mykonos. So great to have finally come full circle.

The last communication with my brother was sending him this song to listen to. I knew he would like it. No response and then two months later-- he committed suicide. "Shadows of the mess you had made....Brother you don't need to turn me away. I was waiting down at the ancient gate. You go wherever you go today. You go today. I remember how it took you down..." This song is still one of my all-time favorite songs ever, but the lyrics now have a cemented bittersweet meaning to me.

I've known this song since 2009. I promised myself back when I was a kid that I will listen to this song one day in Mykonos. I could accomplish that last month in my first european trip. So grateful.

I don't know why but this song makes me incredibly nostalgic, there's just something about the guitar, the art style, and the color scheme that reminds of the way things used to be

I kept hearing this song in public for years, just out of the reach of Shazam or other music identifying apps. I’d tried searching what I thought I heard online, no luck. Today, I was in a brightly lit tea-and-coffee bar in Bellingham, when this song came on. I thought the sounds of traffic and drinks being made would block Shazam’s efforts. Then, the world quieted down for about 10 seconds, more than enough time for the phone to vibrate once, indicating a song identified. The screen went purple, and “Mykonos - Fleet Foxes” popped up. I am truly grateful.

The movie Due Date was where I found this gem. Usually keep up with the music scene but totally missed this one. Although I guess it was a b side thing so many people did. I was about a year out of detoxing from a unhealthy career in pharma and I just randomly found a movie that had the right exact song for that right exact time in my life. I still hear it on satellite radio from time to time when I'm on the road. And even still to this day, it just emotionally stops me and you just hit the repeat button for a while. Really only way I can describe it.

This is an amazing song without doubt, but what's not appreciated is the beauty, magnificence, and most importantly, the message of the video. Two triangles set off on a journey together, encountering puzzle after puzzle, never knowing what to expect or how to move forward through it, but ALWAYS figuring it out, together. They continue forth, conquering each obstacle as they come, until they finally get to blissfully toil through eternity, together. Perfect.

This is one of those masterpiece's that can outlast many generations.

For those of you born after 1990 who appreciate it, please take into account how it's influenced by the absolutely magical songs of America and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young from the 70s. Those albums deserve to be listened 40-50 years later, they are absolute classics! I can't help this song reminding me of Ohio from CSNY or Horse with no name from America!

I first though that is some 70's song by Fleetwood Mac I didn't knew, I swear I heard Stevie Nicks somewhere but then I looked for this and wow a 2006 year band. Amazing tune.

I think this song is about a guy trying to send his drug addicted friend into rehab. Mykonos is a metaphor for a place of safety and help, such as a rehab center. The beginning verse about the door slamming shut means he and his friend had an argument. And the last part where he says "You go today" means he is telling him you either go or no more friendship. Lol I don't know if this is the exact meaning of the song but that's the vibe I'm getting. It's a great song though either way.

I've only recently discovered this song while working for several months on a project in Bermuda. Every morning I'd put this on in my headphones as I'd ride on my little scooter by the road overlooking the Atlantic ocean into Hamilton. The sun would be rising over the palm trees, gentle breeze and 20 degrees outside, this tune, absolute heaven.
