Puerto Rico’s Subriel Matias (17-1, 17 KOs) delivered another power-punching display, breaking down previously-unbeaten Batyrzhan Jukembayev (18-1, 14 KOs) until Jukembayev’s corner stopped the bout after eight riveting rounds.
It proved to be too much for Jukembayev to handle as his corner informed referee Ray Corona that he was unable to continue. The heartbreaking moment leaves Jukembayev with his first loss as he falls to 18-1 (14KOs).
Matias picks up his second straight high profile knockout on Showtime, as he improves to 17-1 (17KOs).

Matias is willing to exchange if he feels like the opponent doesn’t have enough power to hurt him. He said so himself in his last fight. I think it’s a risky gamble. If he can get wobbled he can get knocked out. If he works on his defense he would be surely unstoppable. His pressure is hard to handle and he knows how to cut off a ring with uppercuts and hooks from awkward angles. 140 should not take him lightly. Tread carefully he called Teo a coward so he wants all the smoke 🇵🇷

He gets hit way too much. If jukembuyev applied lateral movements with how he was landing those punches his chances to win go up dramatically. He's like a damn punching bag. No head movement, don't get me wrong he's strong and determined. He kinda reminds me of Benavidez. It's mentally and physically breaking his opponents slowly but surely.
