Please don’t ignore the warning signs, i decided to wait 2 days after noticing grease all over the bottom of my car and inside the rim, My CV Axle later complete went dead on the freeway, had to tow my car which costed me $250, plus $117 for the Axle and $50 for labor.

This happen to me on my 2013 Chevy volt, insurance tow the car, but it will cost $1,529 for both axle and labor!

I replaced my CV Axle Seal and it started doing that a few minutes after driving, I pulled over and removed the axle its self and installed again this time it was doing it instantly

Please NEED HELP !!!! So I was driving my 1993 Honda prelude(manual transmission) and I was going in reverse. while I was going in reverse I thought I was going over a branch(because I heard crunching noises) and while I was done reversing and I put it in first my car didn’t move at all but the engine was still in and running I just didn’t move . While I was doing some more investigation I could move the car but it was vary violent and shaking the car and sounded so bad . When I looked underneath the car I found that the right axle was turning while the car was in neutral. But the tires wasn’t spinning and I could hear some type of rubbing . Is it time for a new tranny ? Please help .

If your axle is spinning and your wheel is not check your axles put it in 5th gear and let the clutch out. Engine spins the the transmission and then the transmission spins the cv axle if it broken the car will not move even if if only one cv axle is broken because it only spins the wheel with the least resistance. @@HYBRIDBATTERYSHOP the dealership tried to tell me I had a trans issue my rear wheel drive still functions but front wont after I heard the front make a breaking noise

My car makes that exact sound but every now and then. It only comes from the left front side when turning left. I was trying to diagnose it. So if it makes that sound it's a faulty CV axle?

What happens when the CV axle fails completely?

@@sethfletcher3772 The wheel will not be able to turn at all, Your first sign will be the sound in the video and shaking (if u are driving). If the car is later stopped it will continue to make that noise whenever you put it in gear, and stop when u put it back in park

@@sethfletcher3772 My rubber boot completely ripped into shreds while driving on the freeway recently, Any sign of a bad CV Axle needs to be checked immediately. I noticed grease on the Axle and inside of my rim 2 days prior but no noise. I decide to put it off until later in the week. That costed me a $250 towing fee more then the actual part and repair. Not to mention it was super dangerous on my part i could’ve hurt somebody thankfully nobody was on the freeway it was night. I definitely learned my lesson.
