You don’t have to be miserable growing your hair out. Here’s how to mitigate the suffering and set yourself up for success through entry level awkward stage hair.
Grow your hair out with me, join my hair update group: blog.thelonghairs.us/grow-wit...
THANKS TO OUR HAIR PROFESSIONALS
House of Imago Beauty Collective
Shayna has been our most trusted hair pro, sharing hair knowledge and expertise since the founding of The Longhairs. She volunteered and helped us plan The Cutting Zone for The Great Cut, where she ceremoniously cut El Rubio’s mane.
She has a regular clientele of guys growing their hair out, and welcomes new clients from The Longhairs at her salon in Normal Heights, San Diego.

True Grit Barber Shop
Having never met before, Steven Jones immediately agreed to participate in The Great Cut when we walked into his barber shop for the first time. He ended up volunteering over five hours of his time performing haircuts, including shaving El Moreno’s head down to the skin.
He has continued supporting The Longhairs with hair knowledge and skilled craftsmanship with the clippers. Visit his shop in Pacific Beach, San Diego for a touch up or a beard trim.

Started growing my hair from a buzz cut two years ago. I'm just not coming out of the awkward stage and the only cleanup I've ever done was the neck line, that started this past December. Gonna get a trim here in a month or so depending on how long my front bangs are.

Man I wish this existed years ago when I grew it out. I could not find much on the awkward stage but I did pretty much this. Experimented with products and styles and just had them trim the ears and mullet. Slicked it back, pony tailed it when it was long enough. Pinned up the wings that were poking out and ride it out.

Funny thing about all this is that I've been letting it grow for the past 3-4 months (my fringe is reaching the top of my eyelids) and when I went to my barber for a touch-up, the dude told me the exact opposite... That I should let my sides and back grow mostly even with the top, when I was already noticing they were growing out a lot faster. I went with what he said (because what the hell do I know, I always kept my hair short). Now I need to go there again and actually get something done to this mess.

I started over with a buzzcut in December. The sides of my hair grew faster then the top so I looked weird as hell. I’ve had a couple trims on the top just to even it out over the months. I kept the sides at a one but now I’m growing them out. I’m at about 3 and a half inches at the top and about an inch and a half on the sides. Hoping i can get longer hair soon🙌

I use a boar bristle, I'm wondering if you guys can help out with this? I'm 42. I work outside. Concrete. So it needs to be tied up or atleast an "under cover" or well you know the deal. Keep it up. Guys with a long hair, do you have a problem with your hairs everywhere. Literally everywhere, on pillow, in shower, on shirt's that you wear through out the day even on table that you use daily? I can't tell is it just me or does everyone experience this, I'm kinda afraid of going bald...

Hey dude, hair goes through different life cycles every now and then. Your old hairs are probably just shedding away for the new and healthy hairs to come through. We lose up to 100/125 hairs a day, long hair just gives off the illusion that it's more. That said, I've been growing my hair out for 4 years and have recently noticed an unwelcoming amount of hair fall. I now have a receeding hairline and hair in my temples are almost non existent that I didn't have this time last year and my hair has thinned drastically so you never know, but it doesnt hurt to have your doctor take a look.

Exactly what Ryan said it also doesn't hurt to get a trim to get rid of split ends that can reduce how much hair you'll lose and brushing your hair can help reduce how much hair goes everywhere 😂

well, I don't believe for a second he didn't use any hair products like a matte wax...it's virtually impossible to get that spiky hair without a hair wax product...it looks fluffy, just like mine and I had a buzzcut, now it has been almost two months and I'm using osis mighty matte on my hair and I tell you, it looks just like this guy's hair at the beginning of the video. this hair style is very cool, actually.
