I'm not sure I would classify it as "justifiable". If she had those apprehensions or concerns, perhaps she should have voiced them, instead of her and Roman green lighting him the day before. She agreed in principle that Kendall would be taking over.

⁠@@OhioPaulDE oh absolutely it was shitty of her. Perhaps I meant that for us the viewers. It should’ve been obvious to us because we’ve seen Shiv do or say things that other characters might not know. So her decision in the end should be justifiable to us. Mainly it’s directed towards the people who sees Shiv as more of a villain than the other sibs (especially Ken).

@@OhioPaulDE The way she ultimately voted sucks for Kendall, but makes sense to pretty much everyone at the company other than Kendall because, as she said, it's not all about him. A lot of them couldn't wait to cash out or move up and Roman seemed relieved to end the trauma cycle. I think Sarah's face portrays a person extremely stressed out and conflicted up to the moment of voting, realizing that she had to choose between the lesser of two evils. No matter what she (very hesitantly) agreed to in private, it wasn't Shiv's responsibility to make Kendall's dream come true. He had a bad case of "main character syndrome," even in a family of narcissists. If Kendall had been a more mature and empathetic person, he might have worked to prove her criticism unfounded and gained her respect as a sibling and ally much earlier. She could have been his political advisor! But instead he mostly dismissed his siblings as inferior (just like Logan did) and focused obsessively on his own desires. He's an addict who finally got an intervention.

Once she found out Tom would be CEO, she figured, well I can somewhat control Tom from behind the scenes in a way I can't Kendall and that’s why she did it. I mean everything she said is so acutely accurate to her as well it seems more like projection than anything else.
