Master Sushi Chef Hiroyuki Terada shows you how to make succulent Chicken Yakitori that can be done anywhere you may be in the world. The only ingredients you'll need that's out of the ordinary is the teriyaki glaze. We will be showing you how to make this soon so stay tuned. One point to make that's very important is to be careful when you add water to your pan that has chicken and oil; when you add water to this high heat pan, it may cause a large increase in flames and can be dangerous situation. You can still add water but make sure the heat is lower and that the oil isn't spewing out of the pan which would indicate the pan being overly hot. Adding water in the pan should be done in lower heat throughout this cycle to keep the moisture and not let the water evaporate so quickly.

I just left Kanagawa Japan after living there for 3 years. I am US military family. I spent a lot of time learning grocery store items, a little Japanese and cooking Japanese foods. I will always keep Japan with me in my heart. Thank you for sharing these videos. We now live in Italy. It brings me much joy to still watch and learn through your videos even around the world. Konbanwa from Italy. Arigato gozaimasu! 🍲🍣🍢🍡🍜🍱🍘🥟🍙🍶

i love how happy he is and that he jokes around because so many cooking channels are so serious and make it seem like they don't cook for fun. So its always nice to watch someone that loves to cook and have fun. And as always the food looks great.

I have made this hundreds of times. Usually grilled over coal, but also baked/broiled and on the stove top. However, I have never cooked this without marinating the chicken first in the sauce. Usually overnight which makes it so flavourful. This is an interesting twist. Thank you for sharing 👍

My boys would love this since they loved eating chicken.. Esp every time I make crunchy teriyaki chicken with steam rice and steam asian veggie on the side. For Teriyaki sauce you need; 3 tbsp Light soy sauce, 4 tbsp cooking sake, 4 tbsp mirin seasoning, half tsp sesame oil, 1 1/2 tbsp sugar and half tsp mince ginger. Mix the ingredients well in together and heated over a medium heat saucepan until sauce is a little thicken. For that extra flavour I always add 1 tsp of Knorr liquid seasoning. Abit like soy sauce but more flavour.

It seems as if a lot of people are asking for a teriyaki sauce recipe and I can help you guys with it. Recipe : 1 cup soy sauc e(any kind), 1/2 cup rice wine vinegar, optional 1/2 cup mirin, 1 Tbsp ginger grated, 2 garlic cloves rough chopped, toasted sesame seed oil. Procedure: pour a small amount of sesame oil in pan and sauté the garlic but do not brown it, add in ginger after about 30 seconds then deglaze with the rice wine. Let it get to a simmer then add in your soy sauce + mirin if desired and sugar. Let it come to a simmer and it's ready like that if you'd like a thin sauce but for a thicker sauce let it reduce to your desired consistency but remember this sauce will thicken a little on its own once it's cooled down.

how much sugar?
@gnarthdarkanen7464
@gnarthdarkanen7464 5 жыл бұрын
@@en2oh, the easy answer is "to taste"... Seriously, though, with recipes like this, it's best if you taste the sauce before adding the sugar, and start light... like just a pinch. Turn the heat to low, just to keep the sauce warm, because you don't really need to burn anything, just get the sugar to dissolve... It's my experience in these portions, probably a scale of around a teaspoon (ish) of sugar would be either right or really close... BUT when I give it a whack, I'm probably going to start at 1/4 tspn and taste first to see what "judgment" tells me... Ahalia Quintero, up there, claims it was good, so it's probably not too hard to "figure out" the sugar. ;o)

I have ONE criticism however, please get Hiro-san a lapel mic or something similar as his voice while understandable, is always very quiet and I believe if we could hear you both equally it would make the videos even better. Thanks for your hard work. p.s. It would be great if you could show us a quick 5/10 minute dish that is very simple but also very tasty that is a Japanese favourite.

The recipe for the key ingredient, Hiro's HOMEMADE TERIYAKI SAUCE, should have been provided in the description box even if he didn't have time to make it in the video. It's essential to the success of this dish.

Ahh = Very Tasty!! I used asparagus between the chicken, used onion powder, garlic powder, cumin, + salt pepper & used a homemade orange teriyaki glaze with soy sauce.. No left overs.. I have 5lb of chicken in the slow cooker now with lemon & orange.
