The hand symbol Laxus gave was the symbol they have been using since episode 1 if you haven’t noticed. The hand symbol is pretty much the signal of Fairy Tail.

The reason laxus smiled when he got banned is because he was happy his gramps did not think of him as a grandsons but as a fairy tail member and just like any member you suffer the consequences for doing wrong (in short he was happy he did not get any privileges)

A big thing is Natsu looks up to Ezra and Laxus. So whenever they acknowledge his strength he’s happy as can be. I’m glad you’ve been enjoying Fairy Tail. Sometimes it’s formulaic and just plain cheese but it’s a fun series with hugely likable characters and beautiful character moments like this one.

Laxus really is a Monster he casted the thunder Palace which covered the whole City and took out Erza he fought very briefly two s class then fought two dragon Slayer and if he fairy law didn't fail which consummed a lot of his Magic he would have won. Whatever the festival last scene with the symbol of the guild is definitely one of my favorite moment in the show.

Battle of fairy tail is one of my favorite arc, because unlike other fairy tail villains laxus isn't really a bad guy he's just someone with a lot of emotional baggage, family problems,trying to be his own person and finding his own place, which is something I think a lot of people can relate.

It's a good anime but yeah people would compare to the big 3 for no reason. These days it's easier - no one is asking is MHA better than Naruto? Is Black Clover better than Bleach? As they can just get judged on own terms and negativity they get is... You guessed it! "Its a rip off of the big 3" . The obsession maybe weebs hands down the most unlikable they've ever been - I'm glad anime is more main stream and we have moved on from that mindset and worrying about any show penetrating the big 3 given their turn is over (they'd have loathed this Demon Slayer outselling them all era haha)

Laxus had to leave to be able to truly change. If he had stayed he'd never get a different point of view on things and see how vast the world really is ... And he comes back, humbled, calmer and more down to earth ...

Honestly, Laxus kinda defeated himself at the end. He blew way too much energy casting Fairy Law, even if it didn't work the way he wanted it to. If he hadn't screwed himself over with that stunt, Natsu and Gajeel never would have been able to beat him. Laxus is just way too strong for them. In terms of skill, strength, speed, endurance, and raw power, he absolutely dwarfs both of them put together. Which is kinda evidenced by the fact that despite "losing" he was the least injured of the 3.

@Muscle Manager Bersa No nakama wins, but that doesn't change the fact Natsu is still getting cheap wins against enemies he shouldn't be able to beat.

@Muscle Manager Bersa well maybe I'll see them later. In the meantime, what I was primarily referring to was how Natsu beat Mercphobia. At first he's no match, but then Ignia comes out of nowhere, Natsu eats something and all of a sudden he's strong enough to win

@@sandygarcia3567 I don't think so... Mystogan did minimal damage to Laxus. His illusions just confused him for a bit.
