Firstly, Bonnie’s famous husky voice comes from the fact that she had surgery on her voice box and was told not to speak for some time after the surgery. One day she jot so frustrated with not being able to speak that she just screamed at the top of her lungs, creating that iconic voice. Secondly, she was born in South Wales, like Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey, so she is from a power singing nation.

The actual true story is that In 1976 Tyler had nodules removed from her larynx, and it took her months longer than expected to recover. “I was a naughty girl and wouldn't stop talking,” she says. When she did recover, her voice was transformed

It’s funny that you mentioned “meat loaf” because Jim Steinman wrote most of meatloaf’s songs and wrote total eclipse of the heart and holding out for a hero. And Jim Steinman had a background in musical theatre. Very smart pick up. He also wrote Celine Dion - it’s all coming back to me Air Supply - making love out of nothing at all

The whole musical theater vibe comes from Jim Steinman (who sadly passed away earlier this year RIP and much love Jim) He is the songwriter, his songs were always this type (powerful vocals, choirs of angels, screaming guitars.... or beautiful power ballads) Bonnie Tyler, MeatLoaf and many others provided the power vocals he was looking for. Videos for his songs are usually very theatrical. A classic of his songs for Female Friday is Celine Dion singing " It's All Coming Back To Me Now" Beautiful song and video...you will love it

If you don’t remember Jim Steinman is responsible for all the songs on Bat out of Hell and BOH 2 and many others. But him and Meat are that dynamic duo. This song was for the movie Footloose (84). "Lost in France" is an early Bonnie Tyler number that spent quite a time in the charts in the UK and anyone from that time will know it. Perhaps not the most dynamic of her songs but always good for a smooch in a nightclub.

Facts for you, she's from my country Called Wales, which is one of the countries that make up the UK. Bonnie is from a part of Wales called Mumbles in Swansea, Swansea is also my hometown, also the hometown of the actress Katherine zeta Jones too. A fellow Swansea girl, love her. This song is from the 80's but I think she started in 1974 when she was scouted by Roger Bell & her career was launched 2 years later. The raspyness of her voice is in how she talks too, plus was also from throat surgery. My absolute fave of hers is Here She Comes, awesome song.

What a great song. Yes, like everyone is saying it was a part of the Footloose soundtrack. It was also featured in Shrek 2. I think it might have been Jennifer Saunders singing in that one (Fairy Godmother). Written by Jim Steinman, who also wrote the songs for the band Meatloaf. Great choice today. Cheers.

This is a song written by Jim Steinman who has written songs for many artists including Meatloaf ,Bonnie Tyler and Celine Dion " It's All Coming Back to me now'" In fact before Meatloaf released Bat Out of Hell II: Back Into Hell Jim released the songs himself on an album because there were problems between the two as Meatloaf did not want to release album. A good movie that he did music for was "Streets of Fire" check out "Nowhere Fast" and "Tonight is what it means to be Young". If you have not seen the movie yet - check it out
