Sudan’s women attend training camps to learn how to fight

Sudan's army is setting up more training camps as it battles the Rapid Support Forces paramilitary.
The conflict has displaced millions of people and caused widespread destruction.
Al Jazeera’s Hiba Morgan reports from a training camp in Omdurman where women have been signing up.

Viking women had to be prepared to fight and defend their settlements and children while the men were pillaging abroad. Never underestimate what a woman with weapons training can become when her family and dignity is threatened.

All women should know how to protect themselves and their families, men and women should encourage this without fears. Basic survival knowledge is important for everyone! I do not condone killing, but if someone is trying to kill you or loved ones, it is important to do what you can to protect yourselves!

Sudanese hero Mehirah bint Abood led and fought battles against British colonisation before Sudan was declared independant on 1/1/1956. Now her grand daughters are to resume her role only 68 yrs later. History indeed repeat itself and horay Sudan. Your sons and your daughters will never let go of you. It almost always comes down to _exploiting_ women and the traditionally vulnerable when all else has been exhausted. Isn't that what happened in Ukraine, as the conscription drained much of the formal "fighting age" men? Ukraine moved the goalpost recently by _lowering_ the minimum age for conscription. The Myanmar junta reportedly started conscripting the Rohingya, the folks they were intent on exterminating earlier on.
