Zoologist Kes Hillman Smith has literally gone to war to save the rarest of Africa's rhinos - the majestic northern white. They've been pushed to the brink of extinction by decades of civil unrest and a ruthless trade in their horns, and despite Kes's battles and best efforts, there are just three northern whites left in the world. Tonight, she'll take us to meet the last of a kind, and as Steve Pennells discovers, beyond their heavily armed enclosure, the northern white's best hope for survival now rests with dedicated scientists and their Frozen Zoo. Steve meets Sudan - the last male Northern White Rhino, as well as the last females - Najin, and her daughter Fatu.

Absolutely beautiful. So sad that ppl still dont care about the problems they cause by hunting these poor rhinos and other species. What great ppl to care for them like that

This is a good documentary but is not new. Sudan, the last male died 4 years ago. I was hoping for an update on how the last 2 females are doing. It's a shame that most people don't seem to know or care that we are these beautiful animals.

Those are beautiful animals the last time I saw him was at the zoo I went back the second time and I didn't see but one of them I haven't been back since so it's sad that no one really cares about taking care of those kind of animals in the zoo

You saw a southern white rhino, not the northern species.

Wow. Such a sad situation. I want to know more about this, the heroic zookeeper that has dedicated her life to these beautiful rhinos and how the artificial insemination is working. Did one of the female living white rhinos become pregnant? Please put out any new information. Thank you for this great story.

i hope we can bring back the long forgotten mammoths which where totally wiped out after the ice age, won"t be same with a hybrid but a new race of same specie would finally come back.

The horns are made of the same type thing as our nails why do ppl need the horns if they have it on the fingers hope they survive

Sudan should have sought help from other countries, like, a long time ago. It may have a better outcome. This being the last one of this specimen, is now doomed for extinction, regrettably, not much else you can do.
