Gloucester Sudbrook Railway line that ran through the Park now Trier Way. Also a glimpse of Barton St Crossing. We are sorry about the quality and have done our best to improve it. Rare Footage.

Great stuff. The footbridge over the Sudbrook branch or High Orchard line is now in the possession of the Dean Forest Railway. The Western taking out the London train must date from 1975 (the last operational year of Eastgate Stn), as Central was being rebuilt. There is a new book about Gloucester Lines South coming out for Christmas 2019. Author is Neil Parkhouse of Lightmoor Press. This is the second volume as Gloucester Lines North was published two years ago........all high quality colour images...a must for any Gloucester spotter!!

I remember in the early 80s there still existed a footbridge over what was the Sudbrook branch in the middle of the park. We were told not to cross it, because it was dangerous, but we did. I don't know when the bridge was removed, but it's sad to know virtually al of it has gone. My great aunt lived in Bathurst Road, and her house backed onto the old MR loop line. My earliest memories were of trains running along there, shortly before it closed. Great days.

Fantastic! Well done! The colour footage of the Western on a London bound express from Eastgate over Barton Gates is hightly evocative but you have made my year with the monochrome footageof the Toronto subway "Red Rocket" being hauled over the branch from Gloucester RCW. I knew this existed and now it can complement my article at Gloucestershire Transport History

oh it brings back memories of the old eastgate station..and that long raised walkway that connected the eastgate station to the central station that is now just gloucester station..asda along with the then b and q (now that camping and outdoor store} paid to upgrade the road and remove parts of eastgate st station and of course the dreaded barton gates

Hello Oldglos, my fiance, father, a friend and I are currently setting up a museum in Gloucester dedicated to the Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Company. We were wondering if we could get permission to use this video to show members of the public the Toronto Subway cars and how they were transported from the works. we look forward to hearing from you. with kindest regards
