Chris Solomons shares his amazing story from July, 2010.
Not only is Chris a flight paramedic, who has a history of saving lives, he's a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) survivor.
He got a feeling and knew something wasn't right. He was driving and decided not to return home because he knew nobody was there. He mind was saying "your colleagues are at work." Luckily his mind won.
Pins-and-needles extended to his arms and his legs. He was driving down the speedway, knowing he was having a heart attack. He tried to ring "999" but the pain worsened.
He knew enough to take the backroads because he "didn't want to take anyone else out" on a busy roadway should he fall unconscious. Luckily, he arrived at work, where his life-saving friends were available to help.
Watch and listen to Chris' story in his own words.

I'm 52 I've been watching Chris's cardiac arrest video once a year to remind myself to make better eat choices, go for a walk or a run daily and get a check up regularly. It is such a fantastic tool. All the best Chris!

In December 2020 I suffered a heart attack followed by 5 VF arrests. Luckily I had people around for the 1st attack and in hospital for the other 4 cardiac arrests. Thankful to be alive. 5 stents and an ICD in situ still recovering now.

Amazing Chris that even 10 years after this traumatic incident where you terribly suffered from cardiac arrest, you turned it into positive by doing those talks around the world and educating others on how important it is to stay healthy and learn CPR. Also the fact that you still work for the Yorkshire Ambulance service for so many years going strong after all of that is very commendable. The team who saved you at work and you are all heroes. It's also great to hear that you were able to recover and go back to work within just three months after your cardiac arrest.

I watch Chris's CPR video all the time. So glad you made it, mate. You are loved. In the future, I know you Brits like to "carry on" and everything, but just call emergency when you have these symptoms.

This just happened to me on March 02, 2022. In all I Coded Three times full arrest. I just came home today March 17, 2022 after getting an ICD ( Internal Cardiac Defibrillator ) installed. I remember the shocks and it felt like getting kicked by a mule. Mr Solomons, we have seen both side of the spectrum where we lived and died. I hope you are doing well!
