Blues guitarist Sue Foley performs at the Blue Door in Oklahoma City on January 28, 2024.

Tastefully done. Too many blues players just try to shred everything. Old blues players didn’t shred. Less is more can be so true in blues.

The most important thing a guitarist needs to convey feeling and emotions and soul in their playing is to have the right feel like a BB king who could play one note and convey what's coming from his heart while other guitarist's feel the need to play hundreds of notes a minute which are shredder's this lady definitely comes from the BB king style

From Ottawa Canada Sue Foley - so legit it hurts! I'm lucky to have not only seen her career grow since the 90's but had the pleasure to do audio for some of her many visits back home. Killer tone and licks. Stops everyone in their tracks. She's so good we lost her to Nashville. Where she belongs.

It's so cool to see that Sue is still slinging the blues. I remember seeing her at Antone's (the Record Shop, not the club) not long after she had moved to Austin. Her playing sounds as good as ever while she doesn't look a day older than she did back then (and that was more than three decades ago). Good for her.

Sue Foley was a regular on my blues radio show going back to the early '90's. 17 yrs of radio time with her. It's beautiful to reconnect again. Sister you still fuckin' rock these blues! Love it.

Ho Sue you were absolutely brilliant loved watching it so much as I live in the UK 🇬🇧 and have been a massive fan of yours for so many years have all your albums and dvds and try so hard to support you. If you like that, we've got a lot of that here in Texas. The clubs, and the scene. Sue Foley and so many others, it's really awesome. Just don't try to change Texas cuz we ain't going to let 'ya-

I lived in Texas for more than 20 years, over half of that time was spent in Austin. I saw a lot of great blues music while I was there from the likes of ZuZu Bolin, Anson Funderburgh & the Rockets (before Mike Judge hit it big with his animated videos), Gary Primich, Mike Morgan & The Crawl, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Ian Moore, and on and on. I saw Stevie Ray Vaughan play multiple times when the cover charge was still just $3. There were plenty of others, among them Sue Foley. Then one night Antone's was hosting the Chicago Blues Legends (Hubert Sumlin, Willie "Big Eyes" Smith, Pinetop Perkins, Bob Margolin, etc.). These guys were truly legends of the blues and they were having a great time playing. But Antone's shut them down before they were ready to stop because people were lined up around the block to watch Bob Schneider doing his latest shtick. I don't hate Bob Schneider, but when "Austin's Home of the Blues" is booting the likes of Hubert Sumlin off of the stage for Bob to do his thing, I knew things had changed.

Had a chance to see Sue in Boston a few months ago and was damn glad I did. Great blues chops and vocals. Saw her at the same place I saw a good friend of hers…Jimmy Lee Vaughn. Reminds me of what a wise man once told me…”tell me who you hang around with, and I’ll tell you a bit about yourself”. Absolutely loved the performance. ❤️🎸
