You should replace the thumb print scanner for a RFI reader so it deactivates the magnet as you get close. Then you can do the quick pickup like in the movies.

@Preston W It's actually not. He was worthy the whole time. The enchantment on Mjolnir from Odin basically states if you're worthy you can lift it, its actually that simple. If it moves you're worthy, if not it won't budge. Being a little worthy so you can lift it a little bit makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Joss Whedon, (Avengers, Avengers AoU writer/director) in a Q&A session at ComicCon said something along the lines of 'Did Cap fail to lift the hammer? +Jeff Enriquez I'm fairly sure some of those guys would be able to lift it, electromagnet or not. Either the handle would give up, the force between the hammer and the manhole cover or they would just lift the hammer together with the manhole itself.

@@inactiveKymi Captain America has always been worthy. He is able to lift it in Age of Ultron during the scene where all of the Avengers try to lift it. Once Captain realizes he can lift it he decides to pretend that he can't because he doesn't want to hurt Thor's pride by showing him up. Thor notices Mjolnir budge when Captain attempts to move it and is visibly confused. In Endgame when Captain actually wields Mjolnir Thor says, "I knew it." He knew that Captain could wield Mjolnir. This was confirmed to be the case by the Russo brothers btw, they're the directors of Endgame in case you didn't know.

The problem is, whenever he is picks it up he is quite clearly deactivating the magnet first. Otherwise he would just pick it up instantly and casually. It would have been better to use a bracelet with a proximity detector that automatically deactivates the magnet as soon as it comes with 30 cm of the hammer. That way, whenever he goes to pick up the hammer, he will pick it up instantly and with ease.
