So my tour of Suffolk villages continues and brings me to Middleton, the home of the Songer family for the previous three generations.

making me feel homesick for England after living 16 years in Europe,even though it looked like a quiet village, you could feel the history of generations in that church. No real ale here, I would neck a ghost ship or 8 easy..

Really interesting Rob, what a lovely village! I may be wrong, but I think the reason that the protestants painted over the images in the churches was to follow the bible instruction not to bow down to any image or carving of anything in heaven or earth.

Dear Rob, thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings. I have found your words comforting. I still have my Dad but I watched him lose Grandad. What really struck me in that time is that our forebears live on in us. I humbly say that the witness you bear here on YT is so inspiring, primarily of your craft and now today, that of your respect for your forebears.
