When you in Lahore ‘do as Lahori ’s do’.. The general perception of Sufism is restricted to shrines or Dargahs of saints in Sindh and punjab. Generally or hardly any one has knowledge of Sufi writings aka ‘Kalams’. Shah Jamal is another shrine in Lahore where every Thursday ‘dhamal’ swirling on Dhol/ drums happens similar to Madhulal. Secondly, Lahore was a predominantly Hindu and Sikh populated before partition, so you will find a lot of intermix in sub-rituals and food.

I don't know if you're still here in Pakistan but let me say you that you're always welcome in Pakistan. And I hope whenever you come here, you always get the ever best experience and meet only good people!! ❤ Re the activity shown in the video, as a student of my religion, Islam doesn't allow it's believers to do these such things. The people doing these kind of things on such shrines even don't obey the basic teachings of Islam i,e, offering prayer five times a day, reciting Quran with translation to understand it, taking care of their own children and family, helping the needy, not disturbing others with your acts, these are just to name a few. The real sufisiam doesn't exist anymore.

It's literally not the real face of Pakistan, in true means it's just a way to eat free meals, to smoke in a wild environment and dance madly on the beats of drum, Islam strictly denied all of these kinds of habits, May Allah guide them the right path... Btw sis your documentry was fabulous I usually used to watch the videos of foreigners who came to visit the interior of Pakistan and show the real aspects of Pakistani culture but they all are nothing upon you, you did it in a marvellous style, btw your new subscriber❤

The visitors at this Holy shrine are 100% right, sufism teaches promotes true inner peace and love of God, irrelevant of some controversial practices sufi's as a whole are very peaceful people especially in comparison to the hardline extremists like wahabi/salafi/deobandi's... Islam is about brotherhood, unity, love and peace and if you don't find these qualities then know that it has nothing to do with islam

Sufism has changed a lot. It ain't for Muslims only anymore but for all the religions. Majority of Sufis is Muslim in subcontinent but there are non-Muslim Sufis can be see too. For example, Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikh religion, is considered Sufi by a large population of Muslims, Hindus, and other non-Sikh people.

Suffiism is always a controversial issue among many people. There are two different schools of thought. But it is not quite as original as the Suffiism in the past century. The people took it in a different sense, so it has become controversial. Many people believe in it but do not like what is in the video because the actual Sufi devotees strongly influence our culture and their beliefs and they just taught what is good for mankind which gives you a strong combination between a man and GOD.

Iryna, Sufism is all traditional, it has nothing to do with religion, and is a pie firm of innovation here in the subcontinent people have associated with religion.

But sister, the way they pay respect to these shrines and dancing this concept does not exist in islam.

Due to scammer or so called fake Sufis. Real one hide themselves. In the other hand There is no any advertising tag within real Sufi or Fakeer. On the very first step of Sufism the remove the Nafs (Nafs is belong to desires) whether it’s materialistic or something else’s. Whenever they succeed to remove his Nafs / Ego. Allah (higher source) start revealing himself on them and show them the real path. So they preach to other without any expectation

Well there two believes in sufism and shrine 1- No Sufi even suggested that build a shrine for me, but he tried to become a momin. And momin's have strongest faith and Deen. There is no concept of shrine in Islam, whereas, 2- Some people have this grudge that Allah has honored them by building a shrine and immortal their name.

True Sufis are those who separate themselves from the outer world. They don't attract towards the materialistic things of the world.They only believe in Allah and always stay and pray in Isolation. While in this video, they don't seem like Sufis. Sufism is not about dancing, Swinging and playing drum.
