I'm positive there was more then a hint that Sugar is at least, supernatural. Vampire? I donno. Maybe? I thought I was the only one thinking that. Great place you guys have here! First time watching, LOVE it!

Kevin said you guys are wrong and that they are aliens lol. Bags does have a good case with the vampires and werewolves tho. Sugar does make it a point to say how he doesn’t like to hurt people, which is just a weird thing to keep saying. Almost like it is some natural instinct in him to hurt people and it is something that he has to constantly remind himself not to. He also has a really high tolerance for alcohol. I mean, can vampires or werewolves get drunk? Lol.

Glad to see you guys are covering this show. I have three comments. 1. It's maybe the most beautiful looking show on tv. The black & white scenes, mixed in with the color scenes of LA (almost) make me want to spend more time in the City of Angels. 2. I don't buy into the Vampire theory. If it turns out to be true, I'm going to feel cheated. A vampire noir series is just something that an AI script would develop. Also, don't vampires avoid the daylight? There have been a few scenes with Sugar outdoors--though I guess you could say that's why he had the physical meltdown just before entering Teresa's house. But "why" would he drive around in a Corvette convertible if he was a Vampire? As far as I'm concerned: if you're going with a "supernatural" theme, based in LA, you may as well make the Ruby Group all...ANGELS. 3. My alternative theory is that Ruby, Sugar, and their group are former Government Spies, who are now industrial spies who have their memories medically-erased, with new identities and fake-memories implanted. Ruby is their "Control"--to ensure the medical procedure is still working, as well as sending them out on cases--for their nefarious corporate employer. There are lots that we don't have enough info about: Olivia's disappearance; Sugar's probably-dead sister; why is Ruby preventing Sugar from solving this case? Bottom line: after three episodes, I'm still enjoying the ride.

It’s possible he’s a vampire. The black and white outfits the pasty colored skin. His love for old classic things. He’s probably been around for looooooog time.

Vampire, Werewolf? Hmm. Interesting but I doubt it because this doesn't fit with what the apparent Genre for this series is; Detective Film Neo Noir. Great series by Apple and I'm enjoying your discussions.

There no supernatural about this series. I'm more inclined to say this is something like Jason Bourne type experiment.

The vampire theory is fun for sugar but he definitely looks in the mirror when he’s showering after his wound opens
