One thing you have to say Nasser Hussain was really a very good captain. Winning two back to back series in Asian conditions against two tough teams like Sri Lanka and Pakistan is not so easy job. It's very very tough. England also played well in India later that year under his captaincy though they lost the series to us but really he gave a solid fight as a captain. Respect to him from India.

This test happened a week before Kolkata test and both test series were won 2-1 while coming back from 0-1 behind. Both were historic test series.

I never saw jayasuriya's angry like this.. throwing his helmet away..!! Clearly visible the ball hit the ground before the catch was taken.. Poor umpiring

Umpiring was very poor by BC Cooray in this match. He made so many poor decisions that went against both teams .

As an English cricket fan even I could see that Jayasuryia wasn’t out in the 2nd innings. We got lucky with a few decisions batting as well.

To be fair, he'd had a horrible run of bad decisions leading up to that innings, so I can't say I blame him for standing there.

Was given out twice in the first test with very questionable decisions so rode his luck in this one. Was a series of awful umpiring for both teams

Dude you are way off mark. This series had nothing to do with DRS. This was in 2001. Drs came about in 2008.

Watching these makes you realise how critical the review system is because there were a fair few bad decisions, most went against Sri Lanka

Some absolute disgraceful ones yes. Murali's 2 balls to Hussein, Jayasuriya's second innings dismissal was the icing on the cake. What horrible umpiring. England second innings also had some bad ones.
