Hi, Joe - sounds great! Quick question - do you feel like the area 61s balance well with the Thornbucker output wise? I'm looking for noiseless single coil pickups that will hold up in a HSS guitar. Thanks!

Yes, absolutely. They balance well AND they can take a ton of gain and not get “squishy”.

Cool pickups! I also have 2 Dimarzio Area 61s laying around, that I would like to combine with a Suhr Woodbucker. Do you know if the master volume's pot, here on your Suhr guitar, is 250k or 500k?

I used a 250k volume pot and a 500k tone - unusual but works great, I think.

What size pots do you use in a hss setup? Dimarzio recommends 250k for those single coils but obviously you need a 500k for humbucker. I don't know what is best 😮

Try 250 for the volume and 1meg for the tone pot (another DiMarzio recommendation) 👍🏼

Weird question perhaps, but does the dimarzios makes your suhr sound more like a 'strat' than the suhr ones?

Not a weird question! I think you’re correct. They definitely have a more “squonky” Strat tone than the Suhr singles with the Silent Circuit. The Suhr singles may be rounder & smoother, but these sure seem to have more quack and grit. IMO
