Can’t wait for how they express joker’s craziness with the animation

Joker having a piano car is actually pretty cool. The last Suicide Squad animation had them fighting over a playing card that was literally "a get out of hell free" card, so them going to another realm or something isn't too crazy.

The writers are Tappei who did RE:ZERO, and he and Eiji did Vivy if I'm not wrong

The fact that the character designs are made by the GOAT Akira Amano herself is so damn cool. Her artstyle improved so much since Hitman Reborn !

okay so the anime director, Eri Osada has directed Jujutsu Kaisen and Gintama episodes. the 2 script writers were behind the Vivy (also a Wit anime) Light Novels. and one of them is also the Re Zero (in my opinion the best Isekai series) Light Novel writer. one of the character designers, Akira Amano is the author and artist of Hitman Reborn, the other is Naoto Osoda, who was behind the character designs and was the animation director for the OG Digimon Movie. the music composer was behind Re Zero, Golden Kamuy, and Undead Unluck (yet to air but it's been confirmed). so yeah we're in the greatest of hands for this Suicide Squad anime.

Director is very experienced, but he is most famous for directing amazing episodes in many famous anime like JJK and GARO....etc. Author is also the AMAZING author of Re:Zero and Vivy: Fluorute Eye's Song. The Character Designer is also a Veteran, but he is usually known for being a Director rather than a Characters Designer. The Music is in safe hands; he did INSANELY well as the Composer of Re:Zeros music.

Fun fact: Isekai roughly translates to a different world that’s why there were dragons and other creatures.

Fun fact, given that in comics characters are always going to other universes, an isekai fits like a glove.

The story is done by the author of re:zero and the character designs are done by the same person that designed the characters In psycho pass, so your in very good hands and wit animating the show so it’s gonna be good as well

I really hope we get the "chaotic murder couple" iteration of Harley and the Joker for this. I mean, I'm all for solo Harley stories, but if there was any place in which you would want to lean into their toxic relationship, it would be in anime.

Can't say I'm overly interested in the Suicide Squad as characters, but since Tappei Nagatsuki is writing it I guess I ought to keep an eye on it.

The wild thing is, this isn't the first time DC has made an ISEKAI. They made "Ninja Batman" about Batman and a bunch of villains being ISEKAI'd and he had to become a ninja to stop them 💀

So, yeah, studio animating is is WIT, of AOT, Ranking of Kings and SPYxFAMILY fame. As for the rest of the staff... Director is Eri Nagata (going under the pen name Eri Osada for some reason) and this seems to be their directorial debut. They previously did animation work and character design for a ton of anime, including JoJo, Strike Witches, Gintama and Kill la Kill, to name a few. Writers are Eiji Umehara and Tappei Nagatsuki. Tappei is probably best known as the creator of Re:ZERO...as in, the original novels. Eiji actually did script work on the anime adaptation, and the two would later collaborate to create Vivy - Fluorite Eye's and it's prequel LN. Character designers are Akira Amano (credited as "Original Character Designer") and Naoto Hosoda. Amano is the creator of ēlDLIVE and character designer for Psycho-Pass, while Hosoda, along with having done a ton of animation and design work, was also the director of Shuffle, The Devil is a Part-Timer, and Juni Taisen: Zodiac War, to name a few. Finally, composer is Kenichiro Seuhiro, who previously did music for Golden Kamuy, Re:ZERO, Goblin Slayer, and Cells at Work, to name a few.

The joker is my favourite villain outside of anime so i hope they capture his craziness in this anime

Saw this trailer as well, it LOOKS dope af. However, the isekai twist could be hit or miss imo.... Reserving judgment currently but definitely on my radar now

DC animated has a good reputation of being great and, so far the anime movies they've done have also been good! My favorite was "Batman: Gotham Knight" but "Batman Ninja" was also good. Considering who's involved, I have good expectations for this! Hopefully, it's as good or even better than the "Batman: Assault on Arkham" movie!

It didn't dawn on me till I saw the dragon. I didn't think it was an isekai into a fantasy world for some reason I thought it was more along the lines of someone being isekaied into the DC universe and getting roped into working with the suicide squad. Side note like the looks of this joker but wont know if I can like him till I hear the laugh, or see how he is written. It goes without saying since everyone seems to think so, but Harley looks good too. Wonder if the Joker will be in the other world too or will it be Harley, among other members of the suicide squad.

Having the SS go crazy in a fantasy world is perfect. No need to worry about superhero’s stopping all the fun! I’m hoping to see either Killer Croc or King Shark, along with Captain Boomerang and Bronze Tiger. I can already envision a scene where Croc/Shark are attacked by some townsfolk because they think they’re a weird Orc or something. Boomer and Bronze Tiger would just look dope fighting a bunch of knights with boomerangs and claws. So excited for this!

Funilly enough this isnt Joker and Harley's first anime Isekai-esque adventure, like 4 or 5 years ago those two, a full rogues gallery of villains, and half the bat family got dragged back in time to feudal japan.

Probably just the hair and expressions, but Harley here reminded me of Rebecca from Cyberpunk lol. Still, if they focus on the crazy this could turn out really fun

Isekai normally means the protagonist dies and gets reincarnated into a other world. So the scenes from the real world are most likely from before their death

Maybe it will be different, but a lot of isekai involves the character dying then ending up in some other world, so I assume in the first episode the Suicide Squad gets into shenanigans, die, then wake up in fantasy land. Which, compared to other isekai makes sense in DC funnily enough, with all the magic in DC.

It's a mixture of my favourite media and my dads! he loved DC stuff! and I love trash isekai! I wish we could watch it together

I would need to see more to make an opinion on this. Plus i hope the English VA's are Tara Strong and Troy Baker or somebody good coz i ain't watching it in Japanese. I tried that with cyber punk and it felt really uncanny.

Having the studio that did 3 bloody seasons of AoT make a series around a violent group like the Suicide Squad is going to work really well. Not in love with Waller's "fashionable" look here, but Joker and Harley look great. If the rest of the suicide squad look as good and they get cast with the right VAs, this's gonna be fun even if the story is garbage.
