Another reason Superman didn’t come to Gotham is because the Arkham knight had the city rigged to blow, Alfred even says that he wants to prevent outside interference.

Personally, they should've used the Crime Syndicate for Suicide Squad. There literally a evil Justice League that have no qualms about killing. It wouldn't betray the previous games, make players mad, and wouldn't disrupt continuity.

I think a simple fix is that the League did form years after Knight. But no one but certain individuals know that Batman is a member. As he’s more of a behind the scenes guy, not actively in the field with them. Amanda Waller would be one of the few people who figured out Batman is alive and tells the squad that.

Batman Arkham should’ve stayed self contained. It’s pretty clear that they stepped past the point of no return in stepping way from the pre 52 & dcau influence, and it’s very frustrating. If Batman had to come out of hiding and join the justice league in the Ark converse, I think there should’ve been some world ending threat that forced Batman to come out of the shadows and lie himself with the justice league to beat it. And the whole time Bruce is expecting that once the fight is done all the heroes he was fighting alongside, would turn against him and try to throw him in prison. But then, perhaps life finally throws a bone. The United Nations is holding a conference to thank the justice league for their service to protect the peace, and right as Batman is preparing to leave while no one is looking you could have some representative of of the United States and him pardon him of his crimes. Now, this obviously isn’t ideal as you would still have to come up with a way to address how the Bat-family doesn’t get hunted down by criminals for everything Batman has done, but at least it would be more satisfying than Superman just walking up to Batman and saying “would you like to join my club?”

Superman wasn't around because of two reasons. One: The Arkham Knight threatens to blow the entire city if anyone from the outside interferes. Two: Batman didn't know him at the time and he is extremely territorial. He doesn't like when other heroes help him in his own city.

I thought they should have made a justice league game and form them how they did in the justice league show. After that they could have developed Superman and Batman's relationship and make Batman/Superman public enemies game or something like that. Instead we get this disappointment that kills the Justice league with horrible ways to put them down.

I prefer a more hopeful and optimistic Batman, so I’m not a big fan of Arkham Knight’s ending. But if they wanted to fix Batman after Knight, they needed a whole Justice League game to show that development. They can’t just skip that major character arc. We could’ve seen Superman confront Batman for being too violent and scaring ordinary citizens along with the criminals. Seeing the inspiration that Superman gives Metropolis could convince Bruce to become a hero instead of a punisher. Batman would reunite with the Batfamily and join the Justice League after coming out of his darkest time. They would have to get Bruce’s secret identity back somehow, but I don’t mind where Batman ends up by the time of Suicide Squad. However, all of this needed to be explored in either a World’s Finest or Justice League game.

I always assumed the bat family had interacted with other characters outside of the games. We saw Bruce refucing help from Robin & Nightwing throughout City & Knight. I don't doubt he'd give Clark a hard time for getting involved either. Even assumed for this game that Brainiac would be such a huge threat that he'd be willing to risk everything to come out of the shadows. There's alot I'm willing to look past, but this? It had better be Ryder being an idiot because there's only so much I can take...

I agree with you, Luke. I think the story was a lot better and more fleshed out in Lego Batman 2 than it was in this game and that’s saying something lol. I also think it’s stupid that Superman would ask Batman to join the league knowing full well he is a wanted fugitive by the US government. Especially when Batman is just like sure I’m wanted by the government and I’m still taking my war on crime in Gotham in the process, but sure I’ll join the league. Now if Batman said what you said about hey look I’m still taking my war on crime and Gotham is my main priority, but if y’all actually need help with something one day and I know y’all will then yes I will join you when that day comes but til then I’ll be here and that would’ve been fine and fleshed out. I agree with you. Story is important to me. I can adapt to poor gameplay. If I'm invested into the story, I will do anything to continue said story. But if the story isn't good, I wouldn't care enough to learn the controls or adapt to poor gameplay. Arkham was and still is important to me. Even if I have to make my own head canon to make sense of the continuity. Also, fun fact, after a recent playthrough of Arkham City, I found a plaque on the prison walls. Apparently, Arkham City was established sometime in the 1990s. Maybe 1992, the release of the Animated Series? I don't know. But it seemed neat.

Even though it's dumb but honestly the thing is Rocksteady didn't have to use the Suicide Squad to continue the Arkhamverse it could have just continued with and here is just a few that can or could work is a Superman game, Wonder woman game, Green Lantern game or even a Flash game it doesn't have to be Batman game yet again and probably lead to a Justice League game. But but considering WB most likely or wanted to cash in on Suicide Squad franchise and hope it sticks even if it did or didn't connect to the Arkhamverse.

I know it wasn’t intentional, but the premise of Superman and batman meeting in a coffee shop would be a really compelling scene to watch, if they met up as “Bruce as Clark” I feel it’s been recently ignored how natural their friendship is, seeing the two characters share a genuine moment is something that hasn’t been done well since the justice league show.

Don’t worry guys, the Batman Arkham story ended a long time ago. None of this is canon just because they say it is. Don’t buy the game, don’t let them profit off of Kevin legacy with this abomination.

Here's how I imagined the timeline before... this shit happened: Sometime after Origins, the JLA forms with Batman as a founding member. He stays on the League until the incident with Jason, at which point he leaves the team and kinda retreats into himself. Then the rest of the trilogy occurs, and some time after Knight, he comes back into the spotlight and rejoins the League.

I actually don't dislike the idea of them meeting like this. But I would've liked to see it portrayed in an actual game or cinematic. Not a throwaway line. I like the idea of Bruce Wayne, operating fully alone and in nightmare/ghost Batman mode, being approached by Clark and offered something bigger. Being introduced into something greater, a chance to find new allies & even family after the harrowing events of the Arkham storyline. It almost feels like a good ending for him, a light at the end of the tunnel. I genuinely believe it could've been done really well, had it been skillfully written and woven into the immediate aftermath of the Knightfall protocol. I just wish *that* was the storyline we got to see. I really don't care for The Suicide Squad as a group that much. Now sadly, KTJL feels like it's arriving at the tail end of a trend that's been done to death. We've seen the Squad attempted like 3 or 4 times already. James Gunn's version was amazing even. But I'm so sick and tired of seeing them. Focus on some different DC characters, for goodness sake.

In Arkaham Asylum there is an audio where the Joker tells Harley that Batman sees everyone from above in his watchtower believing himself to be better than everyone else, that is not a statement that the Justice League exists in that universe and Batman Is it part of it?

In Arkham Knight Superman probably didn’t help because the Knight had bombs ready to blow if anyone entered city limits. Also we haven’t seen how their meeting plays out yet so im holding back judgement. A brief overview can make any story sound dumb. Batman greatest villain dies in Arkham City because Batman dropped the cure and it shattered. Its an amazing story but if you just do a very simple summary of the ending it can sound dumb.

In Arkham Knight Alfed explains that the Knight's threats to blow up the entire city if anyone intervened was clearly made to explain why Superman (who is mentioned by goons on the street) and the League do not help. So strange they would claim "he just wasn't around."

I think Rocksteady are trying to make Arkham batman like Tony Stark, with the fact he's the only hero of the league to have his identity revealed. It sounds interesting, if you have great writers which rocksteady doesn't have anymore.

They could’ve easily have had some man go to Batman to join the league because of brainiac. If they weren’t going to do that, they should just have this been an Elseworld game.

I love the idea of Superman meeting Arkham Batman and giving him hope after AKa and inspiring him to join the Justice League. But… we should’ve seen this. This should’ve been a Justice League game with the lineup of the DCAU. Arkham Asylum felt like a successor to Batman TAS. Why not make this Justice League game a love letter to the Arkhamverse and the DCAU a d just DC in general? Have them face off against the Legion of Doom. Make it an Ultimate Alliance style game with no sequel in mind. Let the fan imagine what the Justice League of the Arkhamverse will go through next.

As you said, that’s just Jack Ryder’s recount. Perhaps Superman was putting together the team, and the league voted on bringing in Batman, because they had been looking into him, and don’t believe he’s really dead. Maybe they predicted an inevitable threat(Brainiac), and Superman goes to confront Batman on the approaching threat. They have a lengthy discussion. Batman joins and only has a dedicated to the team mentality because he knows that the team is the best chance they have against the upcoming threat. So he’s determined to work with them to understand each member better and keep them together so they can stop Brainiac. Of course, Ryder wouldn’t know all the behind the scenes stuff. He’d know just as much as a random civilian who caught a glimpse of Batman and Superman on a roof talking for a moment.

I'm already in the stage of things where I just disavow an official product as being part of the canon. This should just be its own thing, just like I feel the RPG AssCreed games should've been their own thing. Don't devalue the four games of the Arkham series. Don't devalue Ivy's sacrifice in Knight. Don't handwave what should be massive moments in the story. Don't handwave race changes and sudden body changes from what's been established. Just leave it alone, do your own thing. I want more Arkham games, but I don't trust the people currently at Rocksteady to deliver anything I'd like. (And I'm someone who had PLENTY of issues with Arkham Knight, especially where Hush was concerned, but no amount of headcanon is going to fix this shit.) None of my favorite franchises resemble my favorite franchises anymore, and at almost 50 years old and having been playing games since Pong, it's clear the future of gaming is not for me.

So Suicide Squad has to retcon Batman dying, people knowing who he was, explaining how a Batman that went more undercover joined the most public superhero team. This is the game WB wanted to connect to Arkham for shareholder half assed game. Gotham knights starts with Batman dying, his protégés taking over and figuring it out, no need for justice league retcon and isn’t connected to Arkham Knight. My head canon on why Superman never showed up is that is that everything happened in one night. Superman looked at the situation and thought batman can handle this, and beside he doesn't like when i interfere with his business, I'll just go to bed because metropolis is a safe place and i don't have to worry about that kind of stuff, waking up to see that batman did handled it until arkham knight event happened where he was like Damm Batman what happen during that one night.

Imagine a superman batman game set after arkham knight. Where supes helps batman get back into the hero feeling. After helping Amanda waller who helps batman with the government. To give him free space to be batman again. And then they go recruit all the other league members before facing the big threat in a justice league video game sequel. And the suicide squad thing could have been a video game in itself without making the justice league evil. 2 games making money 2 different ways. Put the suicide squad on a mission to stop deathstroke in a jungle or something. Not brainiac man smh. A game where u can fight as supes in the skies, crashing through missles and using his super flying speed and laser eyes. While batman with his high tech gadgets, armor, jet, and car. Fight on the ground arkham style with some new fighting skills. Nano bots and new ways to cloak himself. Man they really missed alot of opportunities in my opinion.

It is quite poetic thought: The best way to protect Gotham is something "worse" than Batman: A bad representation of it. Because the villains can't harm Gotham if there's nobody there to see/read/play it.
