Criminal law adheres to 'beyond all reasonable doubt'. So, even a small sapling of the seed of doubt is enough to see a case thrown out. Law is all about playing the percentages. I worked under Rob Stary, one of the better criminal lawyers here in Australia as part of work placements, and he regularly alludes to this very scene as part of getting a point across. Suits may be a work of fiction, but a lot of it's content presents as powerful teaching tools for those either in the early years of law school, or interested in moots.

They couldn't bring up that part cause their whole case was based on that the allegations against Mike are false. If they brought in the part that Mike cheated on the test for him, it proved that Mike never went to Harvard.

I agree, but corporate law isn't like what Suits makes it out to be. A lot of this is over exaggerated and corporate law in the real world is a lot more boring than this, but If it were like Suits then id jump at the chance to work in the field

+Leeroy Jenkins Well, the laws or rules they mention all check out. The only stuff that don't check out are certain minor details like the LSAT scene in the pilot episode: no non-religious headgear is allowed and there are suppose to be multiple proctors in the testing room. There are might also be a few flaws regarding how Mike was able to just walk in and take the bar. Then again, he might have found some illegal workarounds to get in. Overall, most of the stuff in the show do check out.

Trevor makes me so furious that i wanna punch him in face. First he ruined Mike's life-twice (2nd time, tried and failed thanks to Harvey). Then When Mike asked him to come to the wedding, he acted so holier-than-thou and could not even spare 1 day for the guy who did so much for him.

Completely agree! He sits up there all high and mighty acting as if he is better than Mike just because he's not a drug dealer anymore and isn't breaking the law but what about his integrity. He was just jealous of Mike. Mike may not have went to Law school but he helped multiple people using his mind. What the hell has Trevor done in his life.

The basis of the justice system is "Innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt" so making Trevor seem untrustworthy is absolutely the right move, when you know he's actually telling the truth

I'm really not into TV series, but Harvey Specter is probably one of the best written fiction characters on TV. His personality was very well developed and always consistent from season one. The actor did a great job as well. And he's weirdly endearing, always on the edge of being an ass but you can't help taking his side. I guess it's no accident his name is an anagram for respect.

Many people are doing that. Law degrees have very high dropout rates these days. Now correlation does not equal causation, but it's something to think about.

Believe me, you can‘t study law just because of suits. It‘s too much and too difficult, you can‘t motivate yourself to study that much just by watching this. So maybe you choose law because you saw suits, but at the end of the day you also need no discover the love to law, otherwise you are lost. So what I am trying to say is that it doesn‘t matter if your motivation to get into law school was suits, if you mastered it and you are a lawyer, you definitely have interest in law and you are definitely not a dummy

Harvey is certainly a very able lawyer and a modell for many, many men. But his heart is still enhanceable. It hurt to see the guy exposed to his chelously like that and his lies, even if he did that. The ideal would be the keen mind of a Specter and the heart of an angel ;-)
