Soi 8 is first soi which I explored on my first day at bkk. Today I just ate a chicken sandwich at stable logdge hotel and though take their time but it's really calm in there which creates a good ambiance. Must try once. And thanls for your videoa again!

I went to Kinnaree Restaurant a couple of times in 2004/05. Great to see the place is still going after all these years. You cant see from the road, but its a massive restaurant.

Thanks for posting ESB. I stay on this Soi at the Adelphi Suites. Great place. Monsoon bar really good too. You can use the Monsoon restaurant for breakfast in the morning. The Kiwi bar with Manager Jason in charge a real must for meeting people and sports TV. My mate Noom works at the new bar, 'Invite' opposite the Kiwi. It's run by a very friendly Italian guy, new bar last year. Street food fab too. All in all, a great Soi.

Thanks for the comment, Hau. I hope these videos can serve people in 2 ways. Either to pique people's interest so they venture down the soi themselves or just show what is there so people don't have to get hot and bothered exploring for themselves - especially if there is nothing there to interest you. Hopefully this video served the second purpose for you.

On my previous visits to Bangkok Soi 8 has been my most favorite Soi for street food. This makes me look forward to my next visit. I am using your video for a reference guide to the hotel / condo accommodations. My only fear now is, if I stay on Soi 8 near all the street food I may need a seat belt extender for the flight back.

Thank you for this video it's really helpful. I just want to know if transport is easy or not in this street.. I will stay 3 days in Bangkok and i will go to Krabi by plane at 7.00 AM.. So i should be in BKK Airport at 5.00 AM.. IS IT EASY TO GO FROM SOI 8 TO BKK AIRPORT EARLY AND HOW LONG IT TAKES? THANK YOU SO MUCH

The further down soi 8 away from sukhumvit road, the quieter it gets. We just finished 2 weeks in Sawasdee Hotel in soi 8 and we really enjoyed the proximity of lots of birdlife, thai households right next door, every day we saw them sweeping their yard, washing thier car, very clean very houseproud ppl and it was great ti have a sense if normal thai life during our holidays. yet you are only minutes away from BTS Nana, craziness of the nightlife and , of course, close to all the malls. thouroughly recommend this location for long and short tern accomodation in the heart if Bangkok. thanks for the video, keep up the good work. By the way, have you ever done a review of the food court in the Amarin mall? Amarin can be accessed via walkway near chitlom on the way to Siam. Just wondering. Thanks again.

Yep these Sois are so long that one end of it can be noisy and raucous while the other end is totally different. I like Soi 8, I went into the Esarn one night on my last trip, I won't go there again .Bad service and food not that good. Prai Raya how ever I went in twice. Lovely food there. You must go and have the slow cooked pork belly in black pepper sauce. It was so nice ! I would consider using a hotel down this soi.

Enjoy your travel videos , where in your opinion would be a good soi to stay in as a couple late 40s please ? Like it with easy access to public transport and not in a really seedy area as myself and wife would rather be a little walk away from it . Many thanks , some say soi 8 some say soi 11

Soi 8 and Soi 11 are good for hotels but even those sois have their pockets of prostitution so if you want to stay totally clear of that then Soi 31 may be a good option. I am just about to upload a video about Soi 31 so stay tuned. Cheers.

Soi 8 is quiet once you walk up the soi. Hopeland is very nice, but its a walk from sumkavit rd. Terminal 21 has amazing food courts , so I stay within a half km of asoke soi21
